I didn't ride any trains here, only came here to grab a drink from the McDonalds located on the inside... but honestly one of the coolest stations i've been inside of. The overall architecture and interior design is one you must stop and really take in to appreciate. So much history in those walls, floors, and especially ceilings. Definitely Recommend!
This station is the most beautiful one I've ever seen, with exquisitely shaped and carved ceilings. Above the entrances to other areas of the concourse, there are numerous statues that resemble warriors from Greek mythology, which looks very cool. The station also houses many restaurants and shops, where you can enjoy a meal and do some clothes shopping.
Beautiful train station, very clean. Signage for directions is good. I need to highlight the staff working at Union station. Very friendly, happy to assist proactively. I especially enjoyed the Amtrak Gate Lady seeing me with my bike who said: “Honey, you are going to Pittsburgh! Let me check for you if the train is leaving from platform D”. An Amtrak gentleman then took us bikers directly to the platform, allowing us to get our bicycles to be loaded before all the other passengers. Excellent service.
I took the Amtrak to New York City and the staff were very friendly and helpful to lead me to the right gate. The food court was amazing. All in all 10/10
I was absolutely blown away by my recent visit to the Washington Union Train Station. I had never been before, but I had seen it in so many movies about DC that I had high expectations. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the moment I stepped off the train, I was struck by the sheer size and grandeur of the station. The architecture was absolutely astounding, and I couldn't believe how clean everything was. It was like walking into a palace! I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were plenty of dining options available, including a drugstore on the lower level that came in handy when my mom and I first arrived in the city. We were able to grab a quick snack and some essentials before heading out to explore. But what really impressed me was how smoothly everything ran. The trains arrived like clockwork, every 10 minutes, and the attendants were incredibly helpful in answering any questions we had about which stops to get off at to reach our destination. It was so much easier than driving into the city, and way more enjoyable and convenient. There’s even a sizeable and private lactstion suite! As amom of three small kids, I would have appreciated this because I've NEVER seen this before. Overall, I was so impressed with the Washington Union Train Station that I've already made up my mind to travel by train whenever I visit DC in the future. It's an experience that I would recommend to anyone!
We stopped here for lunch, and a metro ride. The metro is laid out very well, and is easy to hop on and hop off. On weekends every ride is 2 dollars, which is a good price! On top of lunch, and a train ride, we got to walk around the station and see the beautiful architecture!
It's pretty cool. Felt more like a mall than a train station, but enjoyed different places to eat. Be cool if they sold merchandise, like stickers or magnets saying Union Station on them :
I like traveling on Amtrak everything is easier and safer and you avoid driving and you avoid endless traffic everything is faster and safer
The architecture of the building itself is very pretty. Inside and out. But there is not much to do inside. They have a handful of shops but mostly restaurants. The entire downstairs is empty with no seets. In the morning, walking around, we were fine, but by night, we noticed some not so nice people going around asking for money and trying to talk to us. I would love to visit again if I had more time.
Very beautiful and historic station . The architecture is very mesmerizing. The station is very clean . The are lots for stores for shopping, restaurants all overall the station. The station is conveniently connected with other transportation modes. It is very close to US Captiol
