Vance Chavis Library

Great little library! It’s just a few minutes off the highway so I stopped to do some work while on a road trip. It’s small, but has a ton of services. Strong wifi. Two small private study rooms, lots of adult and youth media. It’s nice, quiet, and cozy.

I went there for a meeting that didn't happen but guardgrand daughter was looking at a few things that was in the table for the kids. Kristen came over to get her started and that led into other kids projects that was going on for the kids. She pulled Karolina right into what they were doing and I just sat and watched. 45 min later Karolina had finished a project, got a take home for her brother and participate in/completed 3other things. Kristen was so helpfully to Karolina and my self. We will return next week for other events. 5 stars+ more. This was in 2022

Vance Chavis conveniently located off Gate City Blvd near a bus stop making it easily accessible for Greensboro residents. Hosted mental health awareness fair and was able to set up in a space that had a projector for presentations. Staff was very helpful in finding space and ensuring participation for staff and library patrons. Grateful for the experience

Small branch perfect for the community, great place for childrens and toddler story time. Provides printing and internet for the community as well. A strong security presence maintains order. Great place for tutors to small groups to meet.

The library itself is nice and the staff are kind and helpful, but it never feels super safe to go in. There are always a lot of teenagers loitering around the door, especially at night. I wish there was better security so we could go more regularly.

The library is overall what I need, however the location is less than desirable. Too many homeless or what appears to be homeless people outside and too many teenagers who hang out here for non library needs. These kids are loud, disrespectful and disruptive to the people who are trying to utilize the facility.

Vance h. Chavis branch is wonderful. Always quiet. The workers are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

So Thankful the library is in this location! It is close to the Community filled with children, youth, and adults desiring to learn! Staff is Awesome!
