Always love to support a locally owned restaurant. We are visiting the area and Washington Square came highly recommended. It did disappoint! We sat on the patio and it was perfect. Our waitress was great and so helpful! My only wish was that the kids chicken bites were chicken breast and not minced chicken.Food: 4/5
A charming little place with a wonderful atmosphere hiding in plain sight. Who knew Burlington was capable of producing such interesting food joints? The food is OK with enough options on the menu but the service is fantastic. The eggs were cooked to order but the home fries tasted like they were fried in an oil that should have been replaced two weeks ago. The portions are not too big and the prices are reasonable.
Met a friend here for lunch last week and ordered the Big Fish sandwich without the marbled rye because I didn’t want bread on top of bread, along with an order of tater tots because why not?!? Both were cooked and seasoned well but the fish was so thin that it would have definitely gotten lost between two slices of rye. I was hoping for more in this quaint little place but it didn’t deliver my first time around. I am interested in trying their breakfast because I’m always on the hunt for an every-day breakfast place and I’ll update this when I do.
Washington Square Cafe is a great mom n pop restaurant with an awesome breakfast and lunch menu with more than fair pricing. Fish and chips meal on the lunch menu is ON POINT. Service is always friendly. Atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. I've been here twice so far and both times were great. Will definitely be back here again.
The atmosphere was nice. The music was not too loud. We could talk while on the patio. The waitress was nice but seemed hurried to take our order even though they did not seem busy. We had hoped to get breakfast but they stop serving breakfast at 11am even on the weekends. Our sandwiches were just okay. The chicken and dumpling soup was NOT good at all. The "seasoned" Fries had no seasoning. For the cost we would not go back again.
We got the table by the bathrooms. A group from work went for a birthday lunch. There were 7 of us, so I understand that we needed a larger than normal space. But the tables were just too close to the men's room door. But the server did a good job and the food was great.Food: 5/5
Went in for the first time. Menu looked amazing, food sounded so good. Sat there for 20 minutes and was never acknowledged once, not even to get us silverware or a water or drink order. I mean the waitress walked in to the 2 other tables in our room 5 times and wouldn’t even make eye contact with us….. not sure if we will go back. Brought family from out of town to try and had a very disappointing and unfortunate experience. Such a bummer. Seemed like a lot of people working behind the bar though.
Coming here for lunch, while in the area for business, was a huge victory. What a great restaurant. I order a burger and let me just say juicy and tasteful is an understatement. Our party ordered multiple different selections and not one was disappointed. The portions were fair and the speed of getting our food was fast. Great find and I will be back.
Great outdoor seating and 1st timer for goetta. It was surprisingly good! Husband got the goetta Burger The Burlington and I got the Chicken and Waffle. If you like bourbon you’ll like the maple bacon bourbon cream sauce! It was super strong and I totally missed it had but on in it! the staff was super sweet and everyone was happy and pleasant!
Very good food choices and a nice atmosphere. Eating in or out on the patio are both enjoyable and the service was super friendly!Food: 5/5
