I waited in the exam room for about 45 minutes with no communication from the staff. I was the only patient in the office at this time. After inquiring, I was informed that the dentist was running late due to traffic. About 30 minutes later, I decided to reschedule. I had to wait about ten minutes before someone came to the front desk. There were at least four people working that day. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment today the office was closed. Don’t waste your time. Find another dentist.
A great and understanding staff, and Dr. Shaw is one of the very few dentists in the city that I trust.
Unorganized and unprofessional. On 1/8 I receive a call at 8:30pm at night confirming my 1/10 appointment in which I confirm. On 1/9 I receive a TEXT at 9:00pm at night saying “ From - Water Brook Dental Columbia Heights It will be closed tomorrow so please don't come to the office” I find this to be very unprofessional as a day prior I just confirmed the appointment and then to send a text, not offer an apology and explanation or another time/date for another appointment makes it even worse. 0/10 recommend. After reading the other comments it appears as if this office is short staffed and the front desk staff needs to be trained in proper customer service after this I agree.
Dr. Shaw helped make the transition from a full, albeit damaged set of teeth to partials almost painless, or at least a lot less complicated than i had feared. Thanks!!!
Complete trash. Appointment was rescheduled less than an hour before. Arrived at new time, waited an hour to be seen by dentist. Another 30 minutes go by, they tell me I need a deep cleaning that I need to pay out-of-pocket for. STAY AWAY
I’ve been a patient of this office for years. I must say Dr Shaw is very professional, nice and very pleasant. But there scheduling staff sucks and are very unprofessional. I’ve just been informed that I was kicked out of there system for missing three appointments, when the receptionist lists more than three appointments and I have been scheduled years after that. My personal opinion is that a staff member put in the system that I missed multiple appointments on purpose due to them rescheduling my appointments multiple times. Totally unexceptionable in my opinion and so unprofessional. Dr. Shaw I recommend that this is corrected promptly and swiftly or a lot of business will by pass WaterBrooks Dental Offices.
Dr. Marlene Shaw is a scammer. I was surprised given her strong credentials, but her practice is a money-grab. Patients do not receive basic dental care unless they pay for an out of pocket "treatment plan." I got a second opinion and learned Dr. Shaw's plan included numerous unnecessary procedures and untruthful conclusions from my x-rays.
I came for my sixth month cleaning. I had x-rays done. After two hours in the chair the dentist came and told me I needed a deep cleaning they knew my insurance didn't cover. I left after 2 hours not having my teeth cleaned after the administration staff member asking me if she could show me a payment plan so I could pay for the deep cleaning out of pocket.
I honestly wish I could give them 0 stars, but I would advise you to find another dentist. I arrived on time for my appointment and sat in the reception area for almost an hour, once I said something, I then was moved to the exam room, where I also sat for almost an hour. No one said anything, and when I approached the room where the “dentist” and I’m guessing her assistant were, the dentist had NOTHING to say. Talk about unprofessionalism! As a first impression I will NOT be back, and I suggest you don’t go.
I and my son came to this dentist's office for regular teeth cleaning. I'm really happy... The way she cleans and treats us was a professional and had very good knowledge. I will refer friends to Water brook dental clinic. Good job. Thanks!!!
