"World Gym DHS was voted “Best of the Best” gym/health club by Palm Springs Life Magazine in both 2018 & 2019 . Currently close as of March 20, 2020 due to Covid19. Attempting to reopen with additional financing from new ownership.We believe we won because of our caring and professional staff of trainers, instructors, babysitters,etc. Our 2 Level facility features upstairs a full selection of bikes, treadmills and elliptical machines and a separate circuit training room. On our main floor is a huge selection of free weights and strength training equipment plus our amazing group fitness room for Zumba, Boxing, Custom Senior classes and HIIT Bootcamps. We offer totally FREE memberships for all ages through most health insurance."

I started going to this gym after a back surgery. I started slowly. No one bothered me at any of the machines. Allison was very nice getting us set up with a plan. Matt helped us learn about the machines so I would not hurt myself. Maria takes perfect care of the place and brings a smile to my face. Sergio is amazing, helpful, funny, and a really nice person. Businesses run well when their employees are happy. As for the equipment, they have all you need in a smallish space, with an upstairs room with more treadmills and weights I think. I have stayed downstairs so far. I enjoy the weight machines which are very clean, the free weights and stretching in the large studio where they have classes. My husband and I are very grateful this gym is nearby.
I like the fact the owner of this place talks to you directly and both owner and Son work with you on getting a good plan to join the gym , all i have to say is come and see the Gym, I was like you reading all bad reviews , honestly a lot has changed since new owners took over. Machines all work, great classes and it looks great and its clean. I think everyone that lives in DHS and is looking for a local gym should join World Gym. Its clean, machines work, and if you have questions owner is available to talk with you. THEY MAKE IT VERY PERSONAL!!!! I will say this “ COME SEE IT FOR YOURSELF”see all the new changes and get fit
I love this gym! It has all the equipment I need to work out. The staff are super friendly and the prices are affordable. My daughter has a good time in the day care while I am working out and it's an all around good environment.
A good gym with nice and helpful staff and trainers. Andrew the owner is there on a regular basis seeing that things are running properly. Go with the one time membership fee and the $10 a month! You can't beat that!
I dont know where all these beware and place is ran terrible come from. I was here when this was the only gym in DHS, yes its small but its practical without having to make huge payments. Ive been a member since they opened in that time thats been 2010 i believe i have never had a single problem. Contracts are simple read all fine print make a copy its simple. Sergio is an honest man he has never said a lie or mislead me in anyway. World Gym is quiet small and offers what you need to get a great workout. If you have any issues i have never had any problems there either. Get what you pay for..
As the principal owner of World Gym in Desert Hot Springs I feel I must deliver the real facts, not opinions. I took over the facility May 1, 2016. I have replaced and fixed 39 ripped pads on strength equipment and added new pieces, we have fixed cardio, added 6 brand new bikes, new boxing equipment and combat ropes. In addition I have added Bootcamps, more classes and more fitness options. Many of our memberships are now fully paid for through your health insurance including Medi-Cal and we are the only facility in Desert Hot Springs with certified Silver and Fit classes for our active seniors. I have two 5 year leases+ on my location. Suggesting we are on a month by month lease is totally false. Members who have been there for years consistently tell me that the club has never been cleaner and the staff never been more friendly or helpful. Every single person who asks for and qualifies for cancelling their membership and/or getting a refund gets one with no exceptions. Our memberships for those who don't get it free through their health insurance is only $10 on a month by month basis after a modest one-time joining fee which includes a combination of free personal training, babysitting, Bootcamps, tanning and complimentary time for family members. i'm a member so obviously i'm partial. for my workouts now, they're condensed so i do lots of work in very short time frames cuz work. anyway, it's a smaller gym but equipment's all close so easily accessible to get it done. upstairs/downstairs have lots of same body part specific equipment other than big stuff, large group fitness rm with punching bag is great too. separate men/women rr with showers/lockers. fridge is usually stacked with what i usually drink so, it's all good for me.
Worst place of all, had an pay as you go account in the year 2010 then canceled it, one year and a half later after i graduate high school i started working and i get mail saying im getting sent into collections so i called them and they say i owed them 400 and i tolled them no im not going to pay you because i ended it at that time and everything was fine, they did not have a cancellation paperwork but even if i didnt cancel it why was i never notified that it wasn't canceled and they didn't say anything for a hole year and a half, luckily i was under age at the time so they couldn't do anything about it so after that another year late i decided to get a membership for one year that was our agreement so after that year i wanted to cancel it because i work during the night so every time i went to go to the gym they were closing, 8am to 6pm not 5am to 10pm how they say there open, and next thing you know there saying i am in a 2 year contract and and i can't or else i have to pay all the months so the man that sign me up lied to me the hole time. I would never recommend this gym to anyone, go to EOS fitness there 24/7 and have better equitment.
Compared to an LA Fitness or 24 they're a bit smaller and the equipment is a bit older. But they have everything u need for a solid workout. People are very friendly too.
I like my gym. There's a great personal trainer named Priscilla. They offer daycare. Closed Sundays tho.
