We had a fantastic family vacation here. We were very hesitant to come after seeing so many recent negative reviews. We even called the office to try to cancel - and I’m glad they wouldn’t let us. We rented two 2-bedroom cabins next to each other 146 and 147 for two families with children ranging from 2 to 8 years old , parents, and grandparents. Cabins were clean, very comfortable, and well designed and equipped. We used the grills every night and sat around the fire. The kids loved the pools, playgrounds, and meeting the characters. With all of the craziness in the world these days, it was great to have a few days where the kids and roam free and play outdoors.
The place of very nice. But when you get a phone call from the so-called security? That they are. Holding? Your children until. You? Come and get them giving our. Children anxiety make an nervous scared. and threaten an with the state police. So they basically kidnap our kids. Our kids never want to leave a camp site accept for today. They could not wait to get out of there. We have stayed at many campgrounds and many jolly stone parks and by far This was the worst one ever. There was 7 different campers that we all went down with and that's not like. It's cheap and for the kids to get an experience like that is out of control. You can't even tell that the security is security because they don't even wear shirts that say security. I have several phone calls in to the office. I will see if they call me back on Monday to see what they are going to do about this. If not it will be further consequences with that Campground. Show have you ever do say at this camp ground? Please be careful of your children with their security.
Tent camping with kids went great! Water park is awesome. Bathrooms are impressively clean. Didn’t take part in activities so can’t comment on those. The 2 deluxe tent/RV sites were good and had water and electricity. However, grass was patchy at best. Left with dirt all over our tarps and tents. Best to scope out grassy tent sites before you reserve, if you are able.
Overall excellent place to stay. My 14 year old grandson and his friend had a wonderful time. The waterpark, lazy river and pools were excellent. They really enjoyed the jumping pillows. The campground is very clean. Showers and bathrooms were in very good shape. Had a problem with a disrespectful, irresponsible "KAREN MOTHER" of a 5 year old, and the park management was very helpful in settling the matter. Will return next year for our annual camping trip and would recommend this park to anyone.
Beautiful location. Very well kept facility. The kids love it. However, the resort employees seem very unhappy. I overheard them loudly complaining about their jobs on at least 3 separate occasions. This included foul language. The difference from last year tells me there is an upper management issue that needs to be addressed. I will definitely go back, but please treat your employees better.
I wish I could give this place a good review. We have come here for years, and loved it. But, what people need to know is that this is a great place, as long as everything goes well. Unfortunately, when it does not, they make no effort for their guests. It’s an expensive place $448 per night for us, in a small cabin, they should do better. Today, heavy rains caused flooding from river, which caused a plumbing problem with the pool. Understandably, they can’t control the weather-or even the plumbing. The problem is they make no effort to rally and find other ways to make the stay enjoyable. They have a campground full of frustrated, restless people and when asked if they have or could plan any alternative activities, they offer nothing. In fact, they sent employees home, and don’t have the staff to run an extra bingo game, or art project, etc. the best they offered, after a lot of complaints, was to put board games out in the rec hall. Disgraceful. The rain was over by this morning, and 8+ hours later, there are still minimal outdoor activities running, and no additional indoor activities planned. People are lined up at the desk, asking for refunds, and being told that they don’t give refunds, and can’t make an exception because they are run by a corporate entity, and aren’t authorized. Sadly, over the years, the lack of customer service has surfaced too much. We won’t be back. It’s unfortunate.
When I was a kid, my family went to Yogi Bear in Gardiner a few times, and we loved it. I took my kids there recently, and I was blown away by how much it changed. There was so much to do, even though it rained for ninety five percent of our time there. There was never a shortage of fun activities, and the staff was so friendly! My son lost a tooth during our visit, and was concerned that the tooth fairy wouldn’t find us. We ran into the manager, Scott, on one of our many trips to the camp store. My son was telling everyone about his lost tooth, and Scott was no exception. He assured my kid that the tooth fairy is always stopping by the campground and how she’s actually great friends with Yogi. The people who were in the costumes were also top notch! They were super patient with all the kids who came to meet them. They treated every kid like they were the only kid around. We will definitely be making this an annual tradition!
Loved the stay! Cabin was beautiful and well maintained. Only thing that could be improved on is the staffing. We had several experiences that were not the greatest when it came to the everyday staff such as the arts/crafts. Front desk staff was exceptional.Rooms: 5/5
We've been going here for 5 years RV sites mainly because it's close. Yes, expensive, and I understand we get the water park, activities, etc with the nightly fee, but service and maintenance has gone down. The main field - the grass as so tall. The sites down by the pool need to be cleaned up. Gravel sites are mostly dirt. Add more gravel and PLEASE mow the weeds! Floods very easily when it rains. Bathrooms by the pool were gross. For the price point of this park, grounds should be very well maintained! This place could be 5 stars if they just attended to some of these details.
The park is nice and well kept. We do have a few picks. We arrived just before the office closed. We were given a map to find our campsite and found it very difficult to follow. As well the signage is poor at best. We drove around in the dark for 40 minutes until we found another camper that could help us out. The water park is nice but very overcrowded. People line up over a half hour before it opens to get a chair. Everything else was as expected.
