Please don't support puppy mills by buying here. You'd pay less for a rescue puppy with great health. If you want to pay thousands for a certain breed, find a good breeder! Please don't buy kittens for $250! I was shocked to see that price! I'll get you two rescue kittens for $50 less, and they're fixed, vaccinated, tested for disease, dewormed, no fleas, microchipped, and socialized! When I popped in, I noticed a loose anole, and they didn't bother catching it a repeat of past pop-ins. I also saw a chameleon that had been dead for days again, a repeat occurrence I have observed. Many reptiles are shoved in tiny cages without proper care. They're often thin, dehydrated, and sick. The bunnies all had crusty eyes and noses. I hope you don't buy one for Easter...they sure were prepared for you too. Bunnies crammed in every available space. Too many more things to list. They should be shut down and miraculously continue to thrive. This place has been awful for over 15 years. Look into the history! Look at all the people reporting dead animals and employees not caring. Stop supporting them!
This place has completely turned around over the last two years. We were a little apprehensive to visit again, but extremely pleasantly surprised by the improvements to the cleanliness. The employees are honest to a fault, extremely helpful and patient. We are so grateful for our pup and hope Zimmers maintains their improvements!
I purchased a Shih Tzu Puppy from Zimmers & have received outstanding support & encouragement from the employees. Im a first time puppy owner, with thousands of questions & anxiety - the employees & OWNER have been patient & understanding, walking me through protocol & steps to take with my darling boy. I highly recommend Zimmers Pets to anyone looking to add a new addition to their family!
It's honestly sad how poor of an environment and upkeeping these animals are provided. Flies everywhere, smells like piss. Everything's filthy. Heard very unsettling things about rabbits and other pets from here having bad infections just days after buying.
Zimmer’s is a great place. The staff seem very dedicated and educated on pet care, and handle the animals well. I have be going there for years now, and my family has formed close ties with the owners. Awesome store!
Shocked to visit a pet store STILL selling dogs and cats. Over 1.5 Million shelter animals are killed YEARLY. There are Many reasons people get rid of dogs BUT #1 reason? Puppy mills! These are large kennels who sell to stores. They DO NOT refrain from mating dogs with genetic flaws or bad temperaments. Back yard breeders or even people who buy dogs to sell their puppies are very much the same. They unknowingly add to the dogs sent to kennels due to behavior, temperament or expensive health problems. Quality breeders genetic tests all dogs they breed and can introduce you to both parents with health records. Remember--- Pets are VERY expensive. Its $900-1600 for teeth cleaning. Most dogs need every few years. Its $200-300 just for for a check-up. Its $2500-3500 for knee cap surgery many small breeds carry this gene, and your dog is NOT warranted against patella problems. Hip dysplasia is common in big dogs $3000-4000. Will you REALLY give your dog back in 6 -12 months IF you learn it has dysplasia? no! And the stores and puppy mills know this: hence why its " under warranty". IF your pup or young adult starts showing anxieties chews your couch when you leave, or worse, is aggressive with visitors, other dogs or a family member will you spend the $100 per visit for a trainer and keep training until the dog is trained??? If needed, Do you have $500 for the first of 3 visits with a vet behaviorists IF the trainer recommends it or will you actually blame the DOG for the behaviors and " sniff, sniff, tell people " you had to give it away"???? Please help STOP this cycle of 1.5 MILLION animals killed at shelters yearly because people cannot or will not take responsibility of THEIR pet for life! Please adopt, or if you must buy, review quality breeders. Internet Puppy mills pretend to be "quality" breeders so be careful. Get referrals from vets, yes u will pay much more up front and you will have to wait as these breeders do not force their females to have batches of pups every year. Do your homework. Don't fall for the cuteness in the store cage. Eventually if people stop buying, stores like this will STOP selling them. Thanks for listening.
I love all animals and hate seeing them have to be in cages, but the staff seems to do an excellent job of caring for them the best they can. Love that you can reach right in a pet a few different types of animals, my daughter and I love coming.
I’d give this place a zero if possible. The smell is GOD awful. There was a puppy sick, heavily breathing, and unable to WAKE UP in the back and NO STORE ATTENDANTS noticed, even though two walked back there. I had to tell someone to look at him. The dogs there are minimally cared for and obviously sick. I hope this place gets shut down.
I have been taking my son to Zimmers for the last 3 years since we moved to the area and the staff is always so friendly and helpful! Last week my son held a Pomski and fell in love so today my husband and I went back to purchase the puppy . The employees immediately greeted us when we walked in, and when my husband said we wanted to buy the puppy they immediately took us back to a room so we could play with the puppy. While we were interacting with the puppy, employees came back to tell us what food the puppy would need, asked if we had dogs at home and if they would get a long with a new puppy, etc. The employees were very knowledgeable and you can tell they genuinely care about the animals that are in the establishment. Another employee informed us about financing if we were interested while another employee showed us collars and leashes that have lifetime guarantees for our new puppy! When I saw we are more than pleased with our experience at Zimmers is an understatement! We will continue to visit this pet store and recommend it to anyone who wants to adopt a new lifelong pet! Thank you again to all the staff for going above and beyond making our experience amazing and we absolutely adore our new puppy!
DONT BUY FROM THIS PET STORE!!! I have never hated a place so much. They sold me a bunny with maggots in ITS FUR!!! I bought it, brought it home, and the next day my apartment was swarming with flies and maggots were coming out of his butt and fur. I feel this is something they should have noticed because the vet says the bunny is going to die within 24 hours. Now this poor bunny is going to die because it wasn’t handled quick enough and I have to disinfect my ENTIRE APARTMENT. DONT BUY FROM THIS PET STORE!!!
