About

ADOPT - DON'T SHOP!
(See ABOUT section for adoption procedure)

Description

This is the official adoptions page of the Tshwane SPCA. We will try and update as much as possible.

Anything not dealing with adoptions see our main Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TshwaneSPCA

All adoptions are subject to the signing of an adoption contract and approval of a home check. Adopters who rent or live in a complex need a letter of permission to keep a pet from landlord/body corporate. Cruelty complaints take priority over home checks, so there may be a delay in getting home checks done. Once the home check is approved, the animal is sterilised, microchipped, dewormed and vaccinated and when ready, we will contact you to come and collect the animal.

Adoption fees are R540 for cats, R740 for dogs and R890 for puppies and kittens under 6 months old. An initial non-refundable deposit of R200 must be paid and once the home check has been approved, the balance must be paid.

All "adopters" must come into the kennels personally to meet the animal. Any existing dogs must also come in to meet the potential "adoptee". We also have to abide by the municipal by-laws stipulating how many animals are allowed on a property.

Where a potential adopter rents and/or lives in a complex we need written permission to keep animals from your landlord and/or body corporate.

Animals too young to be sterilised cannot be adopted out to homes outside of the Tshwane Metro.

We are open for adoptions Monday-Friday 08:00 till 16:30 and Saturdays 08:00 till 12:00.

Any queries on adoption please call 012 8035219 (Waltloo, 316 Petroleum St) [email protected] or 012 6645644 (Centurion, Kruger Avenue, Lyttelton) [email protected] please quote kennel and disc number.

We reserve the right to delete any posts from our page. Any notices of found animals will be deleted as people are capable of many things...
1. Unscrupulous people claim stray animals as they know that they only pay a small fee for unsterilised animals which can be used for breeding
2. This is quick source of obtaining animals for Security companies or private security at businesses
3. Many animals are used for baiting or teasers in dog fighting
4. A large number are sent over our borders to other African states with little or no animal welfare legislation to be used for various purposes
5. Animals are sold on for a profit

We want to thank the doctor that was on call today 05/07/2023. With trying times financially we could not afford a normal vet consultation so we took our little rabbit that was Ill to the SPCA Silverton. The staff and doctor were kind, warmhearted and really professional in assisting us. We are happy to report that the meds given has really helped. We thank you so so very much. You guys are life savers! Should one day our fortunes change you will be the first we donate too. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You saved our baby!!!
Sadly we had to say goodbye to our loving SIMBA. Everyone at the center was amazingly friendly and supportive. Fair well my friend
They really care about your furry and feathered family members. Very clean facility too. Keep up the good work and thanks for all your compassion
Went in this morning as I had an appointment to have my dogs for sterilisation. The reception was definitely not pleasant. I was treated badly and one of the guys Frans came to help me and offered me a seat. After a about 30min the lady who was rude to me attended to me and I told her that I'm not happy with the way she treated me. She called another lady to assist me. The second lady was very friendly and helpful. I have booked in my dogs and hope that they will be ok. The reception should be friendly because they are the first ones you deal with. I'm so disappointed
Clean, efficient and effective. Incredible vet, friendly staff.
Friendly staff, great service. We went to say goodbye to a pet of ours, and they treated us gently and supported us through the process.
Handing my puppies and their mommy in was such a painful experience. Despite the fact that the offices were closed, there was someone to receive them and allocate a dog house. They were well received.
Very good service from the time of our telephone call before we visit their premises
Friendly staff. Helpful. Just hope that they will follow up on my complaint.
It was help fool pablo his feeling better now..
