The museum is tops. Our family and guest ' children love to visit this museum . Staff unfortunately went on leave and took the keys of the room where light switches are with them on leave . We travelled far to get there and it was dark and not accessible.
Loved it, it's very educational for kids and the exhibitions are great
We were literally ushered out the doors after we walked in at 15:50 on a week day, to quickly walk through the building, knowing that it would close at 16:30. Got the impression the staff did not want to work. Did not feel welcome at all. Very dissappointed and sad for a town that could benefit from good tourism and have all the means to do so but a poor attitude.
Very interesting museum. I was impressed by the exposition
Fantastic museum. Very interactive and informative.
So disappointed how this once wonderful archive of Settler history has been neglected and is now hardly worth visiting. Rest rooms are out of order and the exhibits are uninspiring to say the least.
Very interesting and educational local history section. There is a small entry fee. Half of the main floor is dedicated to the 1820 settlers from Britain and how they lived their lives and their culture in the decades after their arrival and settlement in the Albany district. The other half of the main floor is about the local history and culture of the indigenous peoples of the Eastern Cape. The curator and geneologist are also very helpful to researchers who have special interests and may want to consult the archival collection, by appointment.
They had a genuine mummy! I was fascinated by how small she was. The Natural Science museum was also fascinating, really highlighting the unique aspects of our area.
It has many different types of animals, birds and extinct animals species. The problem is that there is no Wi-Fi and labels are limited.
Lovely experience
