Come and experience camping & great fishing on the Gamtoos River, at the Big Fish Caravan site in the heart of the Eastern Cape, 15 km from Jeffreys Bay.

Description

We are situated on the bank of the river, approximately 2km from the Gamtoos River Mouth.

Our 36 stand Caravan site is at the heart of the river bank, nestled between the lush green pivot valley of our farm where you are greeted by our friendly black and white cows, while they moo in the back drop.

We spent 5 glorious days camping here. Nice spacious, level, grassed sites each with braai, light, tap and dustbin. Very smart ablutions each private room with shower or bath, loo and basin. Easy access to Gamtoos river for fishing and boat launching. Pet friendly. Will definitely go back again.
We enjoyed our stayed, especially enjoyed the pool and clean restrooms. Also enjoy the fact that our dogs was welcome. Pack enough fly and mosquitoe repellent as they can be a negative if you don't come prepared. I will definitely be back, next time will take fishing gear. Dog-friendliness: This was one of the reasons we picked to camp here, our dogs could visit with us.
Bathrooms are nice, pity they were so dirty by Sunday that we couldn’t even use the toilet. We also played music softly until 10pm and apparently that was a big issue. The camp sites has lights on each site. We booked 3 sites and only 1 site had a light that worked. To be honest this camp site is quite over priced for the stay.
What a lovely camp site. Next to the river, with a lovely pool and play area for the children. Friendly atmosphere, clean bathrooms and ablution blocks..most enjoyable...for an unforgetable stay, visit Big Fish today!
They are upgrading this place all the time!We just always love it here.If you have kids, like us, come camp here.Pool, jungle gym, trampolines, space to ride their bikes, playing in the shallow water of the Gamtoos, fishing from the riverbank. Playground: Always upgraded, nice interesting new things for the kids to do Restrooms: Daddy can help with the kids, because the family can use the restroom together Dog-friendliness: I even bring my bird Picnic area: Swim pool with a beautiful view over the Gamtoos, with a restroom close by.
Great camping spot. Clean facilities, grassed camping sites and easy access to the river. Would camp here again anytime.
Neat clean camping grounds with newly renovated ablutions. Every fisherman’s dream river. Found night fishing a success. Only hassle is unlike other rivers no water sport is allowed here which is a real bummer! There a site this size there could definitely be more ablutions. There is also no wash up area for dishes - no place to clean fish and no laundry.
If you are into fishing, this is the place for you! The campsite is on grass and is reasonably protected against the wind...and it can blow here! The ablutions are good and the sites are large, each with a braai, electricity and tap.
Was awesome with nature by your side .Big fish is being upgraded ablutions. Building of a pool .kids playground. Ect. .Thx Deon and owners for that experience
Perfect escape from daily rush! A little piece of heaven indeed!! The camp sites are great! Ablutions are very clean and mod, nice big pool to cool off in. Everything was just perfect! Definitely worth the trip from East London! We'll be back
