Bushveld Weddings at Silver Cloud Lodge

DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! 1. Firstly, when driving to Silver Cloud, the dirt road was manageable for our Ford Fiesta until we 12 minutes before the property. The road was flood, thus we took a detour 2h 30min longer. We tried calling the property several times but no one answered. 2. We finally arrived at Silver Cloud at 19:30pm. We entered onto the property during loadshedding. In the morning we noticed a generator on the premises however it was not operational, neither did the website mention we'd be affected by this. 3. When entering our room we noticed that the room was NOT prepared for any guests. The room had cobwebs, beds upstairs were not made, NO KETTLE, OR CUTLERY, no aircon remote, blankets in the cupboard wasn't even folded but thrown In. We waited till morning to ask if a kettle and cutlery was included in all rooms. 4. We slept in unit 9 where our cold water tap only released hot water. There was no pressure in the taps. We assume this is due to loadshedding cause of the pumps. 5. Gernal maintenance is not done on the property. From the boma area to cleaning, poor house keeping. 6. Questionable electrical wiring as the aircon, and all other kitchen plug points are wired to one breaker. This case the lights to trip whenever we tried to use the plug points in the kitchen. Pro's: amazing view, decent amount of wild animals, friendly staff.

Horrible experience - 9 - 11 December 2022 1. We waited 20 minutes at the gate upon arrival no one to welcome us or open the gate until we called the owner or whoever is in charge of whatsapp 2. Arriving to load-shedding from 7pm until next morning , only to find that the main switch was off and thus when electricity came back we were still in the dark as we were none the wiser!. You'd think for an establishment they will have a backup plan during loadshedding , nothing nadah : 3. No electricity means no water as the water pumps dont work then , after a 3 hour drive no fresh shower before bed for us. It meant we can't braai nor cook either , Gas stove and oven is broken so theres a make shift 2 plate stove. 4. Place is not so clean , spider webs around showers, floors dirty . We were moved from where we were told we will be sleeping. 5. No contact from no one , we didn't even see a reception. Except for poor Amen yes his name, who told us the owner live in Centurion. I sent her a mail to no response 6. Spacious space for a big group or family and used to be beautiful just zero maintenance and zero service to welcome guests What a dissappointment

I enjoyed my time there and the staff made it an exciting experience and I learnt a lot. It was claiming and gave me a chance to be in natureRooms: 5/5

Great place to relax and to enjoy nature, except the gravel road was a bit nasty.....

We whent on school camp from the 10th to the 13th and was so amazed by the amazing crew. The place is very much under control. The pool is green but is being cleaned consistantly. This place was definitly worth the money. We will miss that place very, very much with the amazing people. i was one of the children that came on the school camp. Rooms: The rooms is very large, aircon works just fine, fridge is a little to hot but it does the job! We had a school camp and still could fit 8 people in 1 lodge and still pretty spacious.

PLEASE don't waste your money because there are many other lodges. We got there just after 2pm and waited & waited at the gate because no one could open for us. This is the funny part, you need to call the number written & pasted on the gate to get in because they don't have a security guard they forget that you are in the middle of nowhere so your cellphone doesn't have network! We finally got in, service is not good, staff is AWOL, we were told that each house accommodates 3 couples, turns out they meant single bunk beds from when you walk in. Very small and very tight definitely NOT for couples because it's all one big open space. The pool is green, the fridge is semi cold, aircon doesn't work, ants EVERYWHERE sorry for your food! Look this place has beautiful scenery but it's managed very poorly. You get what you pay for here no doubt! Oh & they switch the wifi off at night so sorry for you if you have an emergency.

km's for the gravel road not mentioned on the website. It was very difficult for one of the cars we were using. There are no towels provided, one toilet paper in the bathroom. We had to get our own. Very far from shops, one needs to bring everything needed for the stay. But overall we had a great experience and the kids loved it. I will go back but with a 4 x 4 car this time :-

My Wife Marcelle and I had the privilege of spending a few days at this lovely place. The Manager Sarel and his wife together with Jaques are customer centric and treated us as VIP guests, they are an asset to the company. The Farm is well looked after. The chalet`s are spotless.
