'Die Ou Staalwiel Oord' is a campsite located near the highly rated De Hoop Dam in Limpopo. It is situated on a gamefarm with ample game.

Description

Rates: Minimum of 2 nights 2sleeper permanent tents @ R400 per night.
Minimum of 2 nights 3sleeper permanent tents @ R600 per night.
Additional fee of R50 per vehicle and R50 per boat (once off).
Camping @ R100 per person per night.
We are unfortunately not able to accommodate day visitors at this stage.

Beautiful place and it's very peaceful one, i enjoyed being there.
I went there for fishing and caught kurpers, bass and carps. I really enjoyed the day. The dam is not far from the main road, but it still have offcuts trees in the water so u need to use one hook if u r a carp angler.
As an active dweller of Ngwaabe area i feel privilledged and honoured to write this small article about the development taking place in my district. According to my own view I think the government must promote De Hoop dam as the largest in the province as definitely it is the largest, It must also be taken into consideration and be promoted as the tourist attraction site or one of the wonders in the country since it was constructed under black leadership and will empower our local economy as tourism is one of the factors empowering and stabilises our economy at large. Our local indigenous system must also be preserved and the local businesses be encouraged to take part and be given opportunities for the people to unleash their full potentials perhaps in the form of exhibitions or local tourism events.

Beautiful dam with big bass
This is a very nice place to relax and enjoy nature. If you are someone who like fishing sport then you came at the right place. It is situated at a stone throw from the R555 road. If you are traveling from Burgersfort to Middleburg or Witbank just pass by.

If you one for bush that's the place to be lots of fishing wild life and bird watching I have seen that dam empty and I have watched it full up again and the wild life just remains
Some of my biggest bass came from De Hoop need more clean places to catch carp
