As a child Giovanni Sr. worked in the family gelateria which formed part of the family establishment “Bar Fortunato” in Pietrastornina, Italy. Fortunato Forti has taken the family business to the next level, and Forti Bistro is a typical Italian style Bistro along the lines of Giovanni's original restaurant - the eponymous Giovanni's Ristorante in Sunnyside Pretoria. Wow I don't know what to say , this was one of the most horrendous restaurants to order pizza from. Their menu states Napolitana style pizza but what we go served was Chucky Cheeses style. Insult to injury, even Chucky Cheese is more tasty. Even worse is the cost , which is a small sized pizza the price of a large one. Coca Cola marked up 400% ? Geez I don't know where they get their high rating from ? Pray, tell.... Edit to respond to the owner: I too have been to Naples and all of Italy, and traveled all over the globe, yet didn't taste a poorly made cheese pizza like yours. You are in Naples, please either go learn from a proper chef or even Google how to make a Neapolitan pizza. In fact go Google images of a Neapolitan pizza and compare it to your, you will see from every single photo, yours is nothing like it. You think I posted this review for you to come defend yourself ? No I won't have any of that. In fact you just shot yourself more in the foot because now everyone will look further into how a Neapolitan pizza should be and my point and case is proven. Award winning , pfft yeah right... I'd rather eat a true Neapolitan pizza made and served off the floor. You come bragging on the type of plates placed on the table, ad if though it makes food taste better?

Unfortunately had higher expectation of the bistro after being to the Forti Too Resturant on multiple occasions. I ordered the prawns alla giovani, they were the toughest prawns I have ever eaten and did not have much flavor. Husband ordered the ribeye medium which arrived blue/rare, the fries that came along were drenched in oil and tastes old. Our food took an hour with us the only people on the bistro. Really expected so much more, sadly won’t be back.
Recently had a good old traditional spaghetti Bolognese and it was absolutely delicious. Very hearty with lots of meat and flavour. Spectacular! Worth driving from Johannesburg to Pretoria to experience!
Not as busy for dinner, which is a shame because it is excellent. Ribeye steak was fantastic. Very vegan friendly for my colleague as well. Service was simply exceptional. Highly recommend.
