Wonderful off-grid eco cabin experience. Great if you want a break from the city and to completely relax. The cabin was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The outdoor bath and shower added to the unique experience as well as the private "pool" which is an old reservoir dam. We enjoyed stargazing at night. The host, Ben, was helpful and friendly
We had such a lovely time at Leopard's Valley. The Cabins are neat, clean and have everything you need for a comfortable, restful breakaway. The host, Benjamin, is wonderful and we loved learning about their story and eco-friendly mission.Thank you for sharing this magical place!
A lovely tranquil and affordable 2 night getaway that’s pet friendly. The tent was cool enough even during hot evenings and the wood fired hot tub is great get the fire going as soon as you arrive for a sunset dip. Staff was attentive and friendly. I loved the semi-outdoor shower and the small details like the high quality, local shower products were a great touch. My dog thoroughly enjoyed exploring and we felt at ease to let him roam. He slept in the tent and was unbothered by the dogs at the neighbouring tent as they kept to themselves. The absence of a fridge was a challenge we didn’t plan for and kitchen equipment was basic. The next tent is within earshot at times so not 100% private and the bathroom is not next to the tent - about 50 m away.
Disappointing experience due to poor communication, zero signage and hygiene issues. I ended up checking out early as there were roaches squashed on the bathroom walls, which I sent pictures to the owner Craig, he's promised to issue a refund to me, which I'm still waiting for. Theres a hands off approach by the owners and management, who are not on-site if you need them. I scratched my car getting up the steep driveway and was told by Benjamin the manager that I'd have to wait 30 minutes for him to drive out to assist. I was hoping for a restful stay and it turned out to be a distressing inconvenient one. I've had better experiences and would highly recommend Sondagskloof Chalet and Nima Lodge, both places the owners were on site, clear communication and even shared pictures of the front gate, name of the chalet, maps etc. I definitely won't be returning and don't recommend staying here.
We only met Benjamin once during our 2 night stay, and that was at checkout. We tried calling him 5 times before we checked in and no answer or returned phone call. He also didn't greet us on arrival or give a rundown of the accommodation. The wood provided was far too big and cumbersome to get a proper fire going in the hot tub, and no axe or starters smaller wood pieces were to be found. The outdoor shower had no hot water. The entrance gate is not cleary marked, and could easily be missed. The ingredients are there for a relaxing time, however the small things is what causes me to not recommend Leaopard Valley.
Beautiful setting in a special part of the country, sadly spoilt by poor service and an ant infestation. I see other complaints about the host Benjamin on here- his management clearly an issue at this venue.
Beautiful, quiet and lots of open space. Would go again in a less hot month as it was 42 degrees but other than that had a lovely tranquil time. Grounds manager isn't too hands on.
Amazing new eco development. 3 containers e we it’s wonderful views. Verraux eagle has outside bath/shower and small reservoir to swim/cool off in; good views and most private. Sugarbird best view over pond but nowhere to swim unless you don’t mind swimming with fish in pond! but very spacious although abandoned caravans at back of property do spoil view. Not stayed in Malachite but outdoor wood fired hot tub looks great. There is a pool being built onsite, so once that complete no doubt will add to experience. On-site manager Benjamin is great and v.helpful. Overall great place to stay with some minor teething issues that will no doubt improve over time. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
What a way to escape to nature! Oozing with comfort, exceptional service and stunning views what more could one want for a weekend getaway! A gem of note, definitely going back!
Unfortunately as pretty as the unit was, the weekend was spoilt by a number of shortfalls. The unit we stayed in was advertised with a pool, this was not true.still under construction The website also indicated hiking trails but the book in the unit stated that the trails would be built over the next few years. As trail runners - this was very disappointing and one of the reasons we booked at Leapard Valley Add to this, upon arriving, there was no toilet paper and no wood. When we requested more wood which we were paying for, we were met with some attitude from the manager - seemed like a massive inconvenience and we only received the wood late on Saturday afternoon. Its unfortunate that we also found dirty underwear in the room to top it off along with dirty towels. We also had a blocked shower which kept flooding and no braai the one on site had holes in it An email before arrival stating what is on site and what you needed to bring with - would go a long way Don't advertise things you don't have - guests just want to know what is catered for so they are better prepared when they arrive or avoid booking if it doesn't have the facilities they want for a weekend away I've rated the location as a 3 star - its beautiful there but its right next to a busy road I should of looked into this properly before I booked which kept us awake on the Friday night with trucks going up and down
