Charly's Bakery

It feels like a fairytale filled with beautiful colours and fun cupcake designs. Children and even adults would love to receive a cake or cookie from Charlies Bakery. They are a bit expensive but totally worth the treat. There are savory options for the not-so-sweet tooth. It is still delicious, the presentation thereof is just not their speciality

I do love visiting Charlys Bakery, and their muffins are still just the absolute best. I was at the store on a Friday morning on this occasion and I was surprised at how little stock there was. I do remember the store as much bussier but I shall be back. With delights this tasty the memory lingers on.

The taste of the birthday cake I ordered was absolutely amazing. I ordered vanilla pound and red velvet and the taste of both was out of this world. The cake was the Safari one, and it was decorated as precisely as the pictures. What I ordered was 100% what I got. The customer service was also out of this world. At no point did I feel anxious about my needs being met. In fact I was constantly reassured. What a pleasure it was.

We have been ordering from Charlys Bakery for the last 10 years. They have delivered on creativity and taste and are always willing to listen and make the customer happy and give the customer the best result possible. We attempted their carrot Extravaganza Cake with chocolate ganache inside and white chocolate buttercream outside which was fantastic! Our favourite is their petit fours which is a staple constant yearly! Thank you for being part of our celebrations and journey! We appreciate all of you and all of the staff!

Superb first time experience. Had the chocolate fudge brownie and it was super yummy, moist and fresh. The carrot cupcake was tasty. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved the creativity and the cookies were delicious.

Was so disappointed when I popped into the store on Thursday afternoon for the yummy hummingbird cake but it was such a disappointment. The cream tasted extremely tart and tasted offish the petite Four was quite dry. The fudge chocolate cake was ok and chocolate cheesecake was nothing special. Is Charley’s losing their touch. Before lockdown their cake was quality now we paying extra and it’s passable. Not happy

Amazing cake with beautiful designs. A bit crowded in the small shop. Tables a little too close together. If you're looking for a creative purely Cape Town cake shop then this is the place to go.

Charley’s Bakery are awesome! I made a completely unreasonable request to have a birthday cake for our daughter made and delivered by the next morning. They pulled it off and the cake was a hit. Amazing.

Thanks to our transport breaking down, some colleagues and I decided to break away from the group while they waited for a replacement bus to head to Charly's Bakery nearby. To be honest, this was the first time I'd heard of them but by the time I'd stepped inside, I had heard so much I was convinced I had to give them a try. So I got myself a slice of their double chocolate fudge and hummingbird cake and both were quite delicious I learnt afterwards that their cupcakes were the actual crowd drawers. One minus side was that it was a bit costly, but I guess no more than when you get a slice of dessert cake at a restaurant.
