Small but nice if your into history .felt the price was a bit steep for time spent .
If you want to experience and gain a view of the Cape's history, a visit to the museum would be in order. The "battery" is an amazing reminder of lost history.
There was a lot of history about what Cape Town used to look like before further any infrastructure took place.
Amazing storytelling of our original shoreline, friendly guides, stunning exhibitions. A Must! Great function venue
Unexpectedly interesting tour!
An important and often overlooked site that played a vital role in the foundation of South Africa's history, and a wealth of information from their enthusiastic executive by the name of Dale, speak to her and she will captivate and inspire you. Would go back just to have her explain and share the vast knowledge and passion for the battery itself and the history and humble beginnings of Cape Town and it's trade routes and roots! A+ 20 out of 10
The museum is fantastic. However the managerDarylthe lady, has a serious issue with regards to customer service and treating all people the same. She has a bad attitude and I am aware that she always displays one of disregard to people of colour. I have been informed about this many times before, Yesterday I experienced this for myself. Thank goodness to Mathew, who also works there but is the friendliest, kindest person there. Thank you Mathew for your assistance and kind hospitality. In response to you Daryl, nobody tried to sneak into the museum. You were to rude and arrogant to ask us what we required. You did not respectfully ask us..please tell us how..."Harties ouens" is the start of a respectful request. Maybe you communicate to your staff and people within your circle in this manner and they are ok with that but I am surely not one of them and this display is not acceptable to me. FYI: We were waiting for the rest of our group when you decided to display your eagerness to speak rather than listen to your guests. IMO people who work with other people should be sent for some serious customer service training and some lessons about respecting people but then again respect and common decency cannot be taught to a fellow human being, it is part of ones make up. I challenge any other person that has had the I'll pleasure of meeting Daryl at "Chevonnes Battery" to comment on this site. Oh and yes it was my pleasure donating money to the museum. I will make all my future arrangements with Mathew, you can learn alot from him especially when it comes to dealing with your guests.

Not what I expected from the hype.the new urban park did not amount up to my expectations at all.this space is ideal for teens who want to hang out and have cool skater park vibe chill area but not a space for your toddlers to your pre teens to enjoy.
I loved this little museum. It must be often overlooked by tourists. In January, they had an exhibition of Young Photographer of the Year. Fantastic photography. Don't pass it by.
