We attended a wedding at Cranford Country Lodge. The venue is utterly beautiful. A big let down was that the first aid facilities for the venue were locked away and were not accessible when they were needed. A facility of this nature should ensure that the safety of care of their guests and staff are seen to and easily accessible. Safety: The first aid facilities should be accessible at all times. This is a basic health and safety requirement in any business
Stayed for wedding from Thursday to Saturday. No hot water for 2 days. Other guests had no electricity for 5 days, no water for 2 days. Lame excuses about load shedding BUT nobody checked to make sure that basic things were working before guest arrived. No clean towels or room cleaning. Breakfast was very poor, Bacon and sausages was worst we ever had. No options for yogurt only plain every morning. Poor maintenance and definitely not managed up to standard. We will definitely NEVER use this venue again and will DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
A very pretty environment. They very kindly allowed us an early check in. The cottage was clean but very basic. For the price it would've been nice to have some fresh milk. The double bed wasn't great - my husband and I kept rolling to the middle! The breakfast was not bad but would've loved real bacon!
Warm hospitality. Disappointed with the venue facility. Building dilapidated. Roof leaking, dampness gives off bad odour.. was told there is a private bathroom but turned out to be communal without a key to lock the door. No lights from the reception hall to the rooms when dark even worse in the rain. Will be beautiful if these are fixed
We loved our time at Cranford Country Lodge. We stayed at the Dairy, which is the Honeymoon Suite which was absolutely beautiful and so homely.
Terrible. My wife and I got married just down the road and spent our honeymoon night at Cranford. I even phoned on the day of the wedding to ensure all was in order. We arrived at the honeymoon suite [which seems like just a normal room] and after unpacking, found out we had no hot water. We had to pack up, at night, in the rain and move to another smaller room. When I complained, I was told I would get half my money back. Then after sending me a receipt of sorts, I asked my bank to properly investigate to see if the funds had actually been paid. To this day, I still haven't received a cent. I have sent multiple emails since, and it's been radio silence. When you phone ahead, but still, on your wedding night, get no hot water, and then told you'll be refunded and are not... that's pretty rubbish service I rate.
Old...... New owners will not provide alcohol at a wedding but will allow you to bring in your own. Not allowed to serve pork dishes ..... So the lady who showed us around for a possible wedding venue told us. Personally not impressed as a wedding venue as there are many more stunning venues in the Midlands. This far too old for my liking.
Cranford Country Lodge, what a beautiful place. So fortunate to have hosted our wedding at this breathtaking venue. The staff take pride in what they do and truly go all out. Our wedding was a dream come to. I highly recommend having your wedding here or even just a getaway for a weekend.
Lots of hidden costs. Make sure to read the contract carefully. Lovely place. Friendly staff. Wonderful honeymoon suite with a lovely shower head that was not that enjoyable because of low cold water pressure. The fire was ready just to be lit so that was wonderful. Unfortunately the logs were damp so that didn't work as well as hoped. The food was delicious
