Qambathi Mountain Lodge

Wow...a dream come true. I was fortunate to have my wedding at Qambathi. Nadia and her team assisted with the planning of the event despite me not viewing the place beforehand. They were absolutely amazing attending to all our needs. We had a stunning wedding at the forest deck and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the lodge. Accommodation, service and food was world class. Thank you to Nadia and the team for a magical weekend!

This was the second time that we've been to Qambathi and it is always a great experience. Mandoza, the manager, was so thoughtful and it was the small things that impressed us the most - from a free room upgrade, letting us pick our own music during dinner to playing a game of chess with my husband and me. The picnic that was prepared for us was amazing and we had the most relaxing nap in the spot they chose for us. The food was super tasty as usual and worth the money. Rooms were immaculate. All and all, we will be back for sure

Our stay at Qambathi Mountain Lodge was simply exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our baby-moon a relaxing and unforgettable experience. The service was impeccable, with every staff member ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Special mention must be made of our host, Mandoza, who went above and beyond to take care of us during our stay. His attention to detail and personal touch made every moment extra special and truly memorable. The food was another highlight of our stay, prepared by the talented Chef Sindy. Every meal was a delight, with a mix of flavors and textures that left us thoroughly satisfied. The passion and creativity that Chef Sindy puts into each dish was truly evident and we cannot express enough how much we enjoyed her food and the kindness of her entire team. The lodge is surrounded by some of the most magnificent and pristine wilderness areas, and the horses, zebras, and springboks that roam freely on the property were simply a joy to be around. The feeling of having these beautiful creatures right on your doorstep is truly magical, and the love for animals that the staff and owners of the lodge have is truly a joy to see. We were amazed by the close encounters we had with these animals and it was clear that the staff takes great care in ensuring the well-being of the animals on the property. Overall, we would highly recommend the ‘Love is in the air’ package at Qambathi Mountain Lodge to anyone looking for a luxurious, romantic and unforgettable experience. The owners should be proud of this piece of heaven they offer. We will definitely be back for another visit!

Brought my parents and fiancé to this magical place for a four-night stay, as its online appearance struck me as modern and fresh for usual traditional/conservative Drakensberg standards. Qambathi did not disappoint! This family-run boutique hotel is a hidden gem, tucked away in tranquil Kamberg valley, with free-grazing horses and zebras and a small water stream - makes for immediate relaxation! Breathtaking hiking trails can be found in proximity. Breakfast buffet and menu are delicious and the five-course dinner menu with wine pairing were without a doubt the best cuisine we’ve had in the Drakensberg region! Last but not least: Qambathi’s team is lovely and professional, yet just informal enough to make you feel right at home. We were impressed by front of the house, assistant manager and all rounder Mendoza, who was of great support - assisting us with hiking tipps and hosting a private wine tasting for us. Will certainly be back!

This is a beautiful lodge, family owned, in a beautiful location. The owners and staff exude genuine warmth and friendliness and deliver service that is calm and unruffled. The atmosphere inspires tranquillity and relaxation. We loved the ability to sit and read, admire the views, stroll around the gardens, climb the hill and watch the abundant wildlife that inhabits the lodge grounds. Everything we needed was available onsite; delicious meals prepared by a resident chef, a well stocked cellar and bar. If time permits, there are plenty of interesting attractions within easy driving distance. With the luxury of a 5-day stay, we enjoyed trips to the Sani Pass and Kamberg Rock Art Centre - knowledgeable, friendly and professional guides were arranged by the lodge management. We cannot think of a better place to relax and unwind.

Everything about Qambathi Mountain Lodge exceeded my expectations. Nadia's communication skills are admirable and she's so helpful. Stephen is so friendly and his smile is very welcoming. Generally the staff is amazing, they really make you feel at home and the Chef's food is out of this world delicious. Very beautiful Lodge with stunning and clean rooms.

Absolutely beautiful! The night sky is to die for The service is personal and makes every couple feel special. The chef cooks amazing food. Thank you all for making our honeymoon so beautiful. I recommend the couples package when booking. You'll even get up close and personal with wildlife. Peaceful getaway for any couple and awesome opportunity to even rekindle your love.

This place and it's people hold a special place in my heart! The owners are so welcoming and treat you like family... The staff make a great team and make everything run so smoothly! Oh and the wonderful chef!! My word what lovely meals we had! For the horse enthusiasts the natural horsemanship lesson is a great complimentary activity at this peaceful lodge... This has to be the best place for a romantic getaway... It is well worth the drive!

Everything about Qambathi is excellent. From the beautifully decorated rooms, all the amazing furkids of this tranquil valley, to all the staff and the owners. This is one of our favourite places!
