Darling museum is a must visit destination when visiting Darling the museum is well looked after the host is warm and inviting and the museum has a fun treasure hunt that has fun interesting facts about the town and is a great way to explore the lovely town of Darling in a more active way you can either do the hunt on foot or by bicycle. Darling museum is a great outing for the whole family including your fur babies

Decided to stop at this little town on our way back from langebaan, we visited the museum and participated in a little mystery trail . This was by far one of the best activities that we have done at a museum. We learnt a lot about the towns history and also got to tour the entire town on foot in less than 3 hours . Part of the trail took us to some of the towns tourist attractions like the darling winery were we purchased some delicious wine and gin . At the end of our trail we received a box of delicious darling candy . Well worth the trip .
Very nice and informative local museum full of interesting artifacts. Friendly staff who was keen to give more information when asked.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Darling is one of the most beautiful friendliest place to visit on the planet. With great sights, best restaurants & brewery you can find. It is amazing that this hidden gem is not all over the news. I especially loved the Darling Museum as it offers a step back in time when things were a little simpler than today but hard living for sure with no luxury as we have it today. The chills I get when I walk through the old meromelia that was left behind that speaks a 1000 words in one picture. The simple oar of the craftsmanship that is seen with hand made tools. It will just blow your mind being there. A special thanks to the lady at the front desk and to all the people from Darling. Darling Brew, Café Mosaic & Nina's Place The Old Forge, which has a tremendous amount of old goodies to see. It is really wonderful being there. Well, more on great places and restaurants to follow. If you want to explore with me and see new recipes, Bnb, Hotels or just get away places Follow me on Facebook. FOODY HOT SPOTS & NOTS. For great crafts and ideas follow my Wife Brucheen on Facebook. Brucheens Crafts and Cafe. GOD BLESS EVERYONE.

Tried to come to do the mystery tour on a Sunday but the museum never seemed to open. Waited until 1105am sign says it opens at 10, which is when we arrived and no sign of anyone. I guess you should phone in advance to check if they are open.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNoParking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree street parking
Great place to take the children to see how people lived in the olden days. Great contributions on display. A must for history lovers. Friendly staff. Would have loved some audio or a guided tour, but the place is easy to navigate though and interesting.
From butter making, to carriages, to a photo of Delarey the man a famous Afrikaans song. R15 entrance to go back in time. It's also the town hall and now info Centre..
I was totally blown away by the exhibits. The displays of life two centuries ago were the best I've seen after visiting at least 10 small town museums. There is so much that takes one back. Well done to the townsfolk and local farmers who undertook this labour of love. If you are close to Darling do visit.
