Lovely bar! Probably one of the most iconic bars in Stellenbosch if not the country. People from every walk of life has come and gone from this bar and it oozes with history. Many a theory and thesis have been formulated around the old oak tables and cold on tap beers. De Akker is for everyone who wants to experience good old stellenbosch.

This is one of the oldest pubs in SA. Lots of character and good specials. In my opinion they have the best chicken mayo sandwich in Stellenbosch

Very much a student jol.....warm beer, average burger, unenthusiastic sevice....but probably a great place to drink a case of beer!

The young male barman has got a terrible attitude.... shocking! I walked in & l walked straight back out again. There are way too many great places in Stellenbosch for staff to have an attitude!

Great fun spot, lots of space outside, good service. Well worth a visit.

Great place to stop off for a few afternoon drinks. Outdoor area has water mist sprays to keep you cool on the outside while the great selection of drinks kept me cold on the inside. We didn't have food but the portions going to neighbouring tables looked impressive.

Perfect pub and topped off with really good pizza. Had a great business social, even on a Monday night.

The girl that represented the Akker at Checkers yesterday with a bag of coins to pay for the goods the Akker needed was not only terribly inconsiderate but she was extremely rude . Will not support you ever again .

Really enjoyed ambiance and atmosphere. The service was great.

It's a nice place to grab a drink and be immersed in the nightlife of Stellenbosch. Don't expect anything fancy, but if you are looking for a bar with history, give it a visit
