Lovely park beautiful trees yes I am a nature lover so being out here enjoying that fresh wind and having picnic under the shade of a tree is very nice thing to do especially after long week…..The place is free of charge it’s also good for kids as there are slides for kids.Good for picnics and braai…nice for outdoor parties….. you should check it out
The 2023 new year's day music festival was great, however the park did not match the festival standard. Dries Niemandt Park has been grossly neglected by the municipality. The infrastructure has not been maintained and that affects the overall experience at the park. It gets very chilly in the evening, so if attending an event there, take a jersey/jacket along if you'll be there until the evening Restrooms: Neglected. Currently in a terrible state
Am given it a 3 because of the security guards, they were very helpful and accommodative. However I didn't like the following about the park 1. The grass was too long 2. The toilets do not have taps for hand washing. So after doing your business you will be stranded
It's been kept clean. Open between 10.30 and 4.30 pm on Tuesday to Sundays. Quiet and serene, with braai areas provided and a beautiful view of a nature conservation of a tiny dam like area and gorgeous bird species. Great for a time out for the kids and even birthday shoots and a young ladies brunch n you don't have to pay a single dime.
