Durban Spa

Worst experience ever. At night, there's always something happening outside as in a street party, it's just too loud! A 4 sleeper doesn't even have beds! They expect you to sleep on that damp kitchen couch! There were cockroaches!!! Our skin itched as something was biting us! I don't think the bedding was washed appropriately! They do not have generators!! The cleaning staff is absolutely friendly and helpful, we stayed on floor 1. They don't tell you how to enter the building via the parking on the side, so you're constantly pressing buttons in the elevator and eventually find out that you need to go to ground not the number that they assign to you and then take another elevator to your room floor! They don't tell you that you need to pay a R500 refundable deposit anywhere besides when you are at reception, which completely throws your budget off. I would spend abit extra and go and stay in a much better place than at Durban Spa. Rooms: Small, sub par. Riddled with cockroaches.

The facilities like the pools and hot tub etc are kept neat and well maintained however the room I had was not to my liking in terms of cleanliness. Roaches scurried around the kitchen and sitting area. The service on check out was also displeasing with the person checking my room telling me that spoons were missing however the room was not itemized when I checked in. My deposit was returned to me however the overall experience was not good.

Durban spa has downgraded over the pass few years for 8 years I have been staying at the premises 3 times a year so now in July will be the last.. the building is falling apart and so is durban spa service.. the place is infested with coackroshes we had to stick it out for a week nothing was done when we complained.. the aircon unit almost fell on my parents heads so 11pm we had to call for it to be attended to.. so they just put screw temporarily to hold it before as I showed the guy when he arrived.. rather pay more money elsewhere and get what you deserve this is totally unfair. This was the first and last time we visited Durban Spa. We drove about 12 hours and we knew we would arrive very late, so we called in advance and told them, they still didn't cater to us, told us it's late to check in, even after we called them. Never again! Really and truly the worst hotel in South Beach Durban. The experience with the cockroaches and loadshedding has really left a bad taste in our mouths. What kind of hotel doesn't have a generator? Imagine wanting to be at another place because your hotel doesn't have electricity, might as well stay home. This is not a good place to be for vacation. Our room was so crammed. The housekeeping is very poor. The bed is not properly made, and the room is not properly cleaned. This place was terrible, they only told us about a deposit when you get there after booking. The rooms are disgusting, and they have roaches even worse. Place smells bad, everything about the place had just a fixed foul smell, we thought perfumes would do something but nothing, absolutely disgusting! I would never recommend, the pictures they post on the internet are definitely deceiving as it’s nothing like the pictures and they expect 2 people to sleep in the kitchen on these single couches in the midst of the disgusting roaches and reading other reviews it’s obvious they don’t care about how pathetic the place is they will just send a meaningless response so people can see they responded but they will do nothing to change it I wish I read reviews before I booked. Their friendly security guards, no other staff was friendly, and amenities were the only good thing about the resort.

Really good place for vacation. Good location. Friendly staff. They have heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The View is amazingRooms: 4/5

This place was terrible. They only tell you about a deposit when you get there after booking, no help about how to get to the rooms we took the wrong lift and waited so long before being directed by a guest-imagine. The rooms are disgusting and they have roaches even worse. The service was good, receptionist and caretaker/ guard the are friendly....you feel like you are at home everything is there,if you don't like restaurant food you can cook your own food..... Rooms: Rooms always clean Nearby activities: It's next to Ushaka, beach and shops
