Every time we go it is fun and informative. I discover something I didn’t notice before each time. There are some new displays which are very interesting; Imifino, Auriel Batten, as well as before and after photographs of East London. The place is well maintained and the entry fee is very reasonable.
Wow, totally enjoyed bringing the kids here. The museum is full of useful information with wonderful displays. For an entry fee of merely R15 kids and R25 adults, it's well worth the visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Took the kids to an open day and they had the BEST time. Some things are still as I remember from being a child myself and some really cool new additions. Love this museum and I know the kids loved it too.
Best experience in a long time with my little one
I've always loved the museum, but all the new additions have made it even better than before! I could spend the whole day wandering around this amazing place, I definitely recommend visiting.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Theme of the museum is as relevant now as it was when in opened in the 1920s ito of evolution of animals by land and sea. History of SA and wider world is also included - while they have great variety of oceanic shell species, moth and butterfly species one can spend a few hours lost in time.Wait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo

Awesome history shared with my grandson and nephew from CT. Luca Lawrence and Paton Williams's 1st visit. So excited.
If anyone wants to have a better understanding of East London, South Africa, this museum is a go to area. Superb museum tours with Kevin Cole and the museum team. The history and information about Eastern cape from the ancient times as early as 20 000 years ago to modern day is well elaborated. The world's oldest archaic footsteps are also displayed in this Museum. Happy visit
