Terrible service. We budgeted and planned for the 4 burgundy bridesmaids dresses and all measurements, payments etc were completed as requested. A month before my wedding, with almost no communication up to that point many unanswered emails sent to her, she cancels our order and sends back my money. Running around a month before, trying to find the same dresses, same colour, material and in the same price range was next to impossible. So we ended up with a different colour, material and something I was very unhappy with but had to make it work.
Worst sevice ever!!!!!! Please don’t make use of Jacqueline’s services. She wasted our time and money - and now 3 weeks before my wedding I have to find 3 new bridesmaids dresses. 1 She kept on loosing our order, then argued with my mom and I about what we ordered. Then she kept on getting the colours wrong of the dresses as well - even after numerous emails has been sent to confirm the type and colour of dress. 2 I ordered the dresses in April 2018 and asked that it could be completed by end October. A week before the collection date, I contacted Jacqueline to ask about the dresses. Her response was that she is going to start with them now. That means she has 1 week to complete 3 Jane Skirts and 3 Boho dresses. I specifically said to her that I don’t want it to be a rushed job, therefore I will give her until 24 Nov to complete my order. On Wednesday, 14 Nov I made contact to find out how the dresses are progressing. She said that the dresses will be finished and can in fact be collected on Friday, 23 Nov. On Tuesday, 20 Nov my mom contacted Jacqueline to confirm that she and my dad are collecting the dresses on Friday. Her response was that she is actually on her way to buy the material for the skirts and dresses. Jacqueline then wanted to confirm that the Jane skirts are pink, which is completely wrong as we have reminded her numerous times via email that the Jane skirts are NAVY!!!! ONCE AGAIN SHE GETS THE ORDER WRONG!!!!! My mom was shocked that after all this time, she still can’t get it right!! To make matters worse, on Friday, 23 Nov my mom phoned Jacqueline to tell her that they are on their way to collect the dresses. Jacqueline told my mom that they shouldn’t come as she is STILL busy with the dresses!!! 3 Upon arrival my mom could see that the dresses are way too big or too small, however she had to take them as we couldn’t give her more time. My bridesmaids and flower girls had to try their dresses and skirts to make sure it’s right. Seriously, she had time since April to complete the order. 4 When my bridesmaids tried their dresses, it was horrifically messed up and wrong. My one bridesmaid is an XS - she can fit x3 into her dress my other bridesmaid’s dress was too small and the length of all the dresses were too long. The flower girls dresses are also completely wrong. The one’s skirt is just a bit too short and the other skirts are way too long. And the best and most shocking part: my bridesmaids and flower girls all went to Jacqueline for their measurements how she measured I have no clue. Her stitching on the dresses are HORRIBLE!! The dresses also does not look like the pictures as advertised on the website! False marketing!!!!!! Honestly, Jacqueline does not deserve to have her own clothing company. In fact, she is a fraud. She takes your money, makes lame excuses about why the order is not finished seamstress not arriving or quitting, wastes my time and causes more stress. My wedding is on 15 December 2018 and now I have to find new dresses. Please please please stay away from this Jacqueline, she will just make your life difficult and add extra stress for the bride. EDIT: the next day after I posted the review, she phoned my mom to say that she is very upset about this review. She was also upset about my mom phoning her over the weekend, however she said that she will be in our neighborhood on Sunday, so if anything is wrong with the dresses, she will come fetch it. Never heard from her!!! This morning she didn’t want to accept any fault as my bridesmaids never came for their measurements - which is a complete lie, as they did go to Jacqueline for their measurements. She doesn’t want to accept that she is in the wrong, now she lies and says they were never there. Wish I could post the photos of the dresses on this review as proof.
- I am getting married on 28 September 2019 and started planning for my bridesmaids dresses. - I paid a deposit of R3 125.00 on 13 November 2018 to reserve my potential order of 7 bride’s maids dresses to Jacqueline Grobler who then was the owner of Ek Trou Bridal Boutique. - Jacqueline Grobler closed down her business and commenced with a full time job. She confirmed that she will complete these dresses after hours as her last project for bridesmaids dresses. - I booked an appointment with her on 10 July 2019 in order to fit a sample dress with one of my bridesmaids and also presented her with the sizes. However on arrival she did not even have a proper sample to present. It was a poorly constructed dress that was supposed to be similar to an Infinity style dress and did not even have color sampled or material samples available to choose from. She said she will get material samples ready by next week. - After considering her poor effort and the shocking quality of the sample I decided to cancel my order the next day. - Jacqueline Grobler then informed me that I paid her a non-refundable deposit which is not legal according to the Consumer Protection Act Is there someone with similar problem with her, please contact me as i am taking this matter further.
Shocking bad service!! Not recommended unless you want to spend your last days before your wedding crying. Bride was rudely asked to collect 6 unfinished Bridesmaids dresses 48 hours before the wedding due to seamstresses not being able to handle the stress and a very unprofessional screaming session over the phone by the owner. Bride and bridesmaids had to take off from work and run around in a panic at the last minute to fix alterations never completed and incorrectly measured and cut by the boutique. More than enough material was supplied and due to incorrect measurements and cuts more material had to be bought as there was nothing left to repair the dresses with. Poor workmanship as well - dress panels too small or way too big, panels not lining up not cut together, un-neat stitching, skew seams to name a few. Hole in one dress and elastic ripped out - don't know how that happened???? Utterly disappointed with a horrible experience :-
Since day one you were very accommodating despite limited time given...you've made my bridesmaids and myself feel at home and comfortable in your boutique and you are the most sweetest person... Thank you for their amazing dresses, it fits perfectly and can hardly wait to see them in it. SUPER EXCITED
Ruined my best friends wedding. Not recommended at all. Cut a hole out of spite in a bridesmaid dress. Harsh accusations to make without any proof. If no dresses were damaged, how do you known which friend and which wedding I am talking about... warning lights!!!
Negative ratings possible please? Incredibly bad service including cancelling our booking mere hours beforehand all because bride had too many guests??? Crazy! 2 moms and 3 bridesmaids don't sound over the top especially for today's weddings! So much for winning R2000 off the hiring fee! Maybe the real reason for the cancellation??
Fantastic quality material for the multi-way dresses! Completed on date promised. Thank you, they fit my ladies perfectly.
If I could have given "0" I would have: They cancelled my order in the week it had to be delivered : Gave me a refund for the dress but still have not paid my shipping fee back. Very Unprofessional!!!
Jacky has been nothing but accomodating even with late requests and the dresses she makes are very affordable.
