Always love coming to Ferrymans! Live sports, live music, cold selection of beers on tap and good service. It has a wide variety of pub grub on offer as well as options for vegetarians and vegans. Playgrounds are available for the kiddies. I recommend it for a festive day out.
A lovely pub in the V and A waterfront. Wide selection of beers on tap- I personally enjoy the Leffe Blonde! Probably one of the best beers I have ever tasted. Food is okay, with some Irish specials on the menu. I recommend the burger or the sticky ribs and calamari. Oysters were also lovely. The prawn cocktail tasted overwhelming cinnamon like. And it is the deconstructed variety. If I wanted pancakes I would have ordered them. The steak was nice but not the best quality of cut. I also asked for it blu on a cold plate but it came rare on a hot plate. I asked for the Irish whiskey and pepper flambé. Be wary, only do this if you really really really like pepper because it can be a bit overwhelming. Bathrooms need some TLC. Reminds me of toilets at a school.
Ferryman's in the V&A Waterfront is one of those places that is always good and has really passed the test of time. If you are looking for a fun day out with some tasty beers, live music and enjoy some good food, then this is the place for you. They are very popular so I recommend you make a booking especially for larger groups. This is also a good option for warm or cold days as they have both indoor and outdoor seating areas, and the staff are friendly and helpful. As I mentioned, they frequently have live music over weekends which I love, but unfortunately when we visited the band's volume was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other and we ended up moving to a quieter spot inside the restaurant. I recommend the management look into this as the live music is nice but it was just way too loud. Apart from this, the rest of the experience was as good as usual and I am already planning my next trip back.
We were passing by on a weekday night from dinner with customers. The karaoke attracted us into this venue. The guys had a couple more drinks but by then the DJ/ one man band killed the vibe. Not much later and we left.Service: 3/5
Nothing like some good food, live music and a drink at Ferryman’s on a lazy Saturday afternoon Best Beef and Guineas Pot Pie I have had in a while
Great atmosphere and good live music, real food like you would eat at your Irish pubs in IrelandFood: 5/5
Very good position for drinks and a meal in the waterfront. Service is fast. Lots of seating but it gets crowded. Very vibrant with great music, some spits for smoking outside, inside has a large bar area. Great place to mingle and meet friends, open till late.Service: 5/5
Great atmosphere, fast service and one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. This truly is a special place and I can't recommend it enough.
This venue has a nice vibey atmosphere being in the V&A, but I must say, that is it, our experience was horrible. The service was absolutely shocking. All the focus was on the big table behind us, in fact they made the table even bigger for them, which was basically pushed right into our seating space, as a result, patrons were then bumping and knocking, both us and my friend's baby stroller, waking her baby constantly. I found this exceptionally inconsiderate. We weren't offered to be moved to another table, nothing. In fact, we had 3 different servers, serving us, as a result our orders had to be placed multiple times, before receiving anything,. We were waiting twenty minutes each time for a drink that we would receive one by one, at staggering times, including a glass of tap water. And we were being served by the deputy manager himself at some point. No improvement to service. I get really disappointed by establishments that cater to foreigners so often, they forget to provide their locals with good service. I hope to have a better experience, if I ever go back.
Vibe is really great, very nice place to get drinks if at the waterfront, bands play sometimes on the weekends. Food is good, service is a bit slow sometimes so be prepared to wait a bit, but if you come to relax & enjoy it's a great spot. Otherwise all in all very nice. Kid-friendliness: Kids play area is right next door.
