Forever Resorts Blyde Canyon

This Resort is located in one of the most beautiful areas in the country. We made use of the camping area and we enjoyed it very much. Peaceful and very relaxing. Ablution very clean and tidy. The surroundings in general is breathtaking and something to enjoy. With stage 6 loadshedding it was a problem especially if the times are around breakfast and dinner time. Forever resorts are a big company and I am sure at some stage they will have to install generators at the resorts to make life more convenient and enjoyable to the visitors. Other than that we will most probably visit the resort again.

Rooms were old fashioned and could do with a new tiling and cabinets could do with a face lift. Lights could do with face lifts. The garage for amenities closes too soon. Perhaps A Sasol or Total or Engen needs to come in with it's finesse so the area can have the spice and energized it deserves. The bathroom could do with a bit of shake up. I think in short I am saying in 2023, the Blyde River Canyon Lodge, should be looking much greater and better as it's advertising is. It's a great place one which can be greater. And we will be back in a year... Just hope we can have the changes. Rooms: Needs upgrade on floor tiling, lights and showers. Nearby activities: God's Window, Blyde River Canyon lake and view Food & drinks: Garage closes too soon. This place needs a Shell or Total Garage, or Engen or similar to make sure all is okay for available ice and drinks.

We arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning. We were pleased with the room we initially received , however, before we even finished unloading our vehicle the neighbour next door came and said we are making too much noise. We found this to be unreasonable as we had not even settled in, so we requested a room change. Security was very helpful and aided with our request. However, the second room was disappointing. There were cockroaches in the shower, an infestation in the fridge. We did not even want to put our food in that fridge. The blanket made us itch, so we decided to just sleep on the sheets. We could have switched for the third time but we were way too exhausted after a 5 hour drive and an initial switch already. When we informed reception in the morning, they were neither apologetic nor sympathetic to the below par service that we received. They were nonchalant and made it seem as if it was no big deal. All they had to say was that we should have called security and switched rooms for the third time. We will definitely not be staying at Blyde Canyon, A forever Resort the next time we are in Mpumalanga. Our money is well better spent elsewhere. On a positive note, the restaurant serves really delicious and fresh food with great service.

I did the camping thing. This is a top class campsite and holiday destination. Property is super clean and tidy. Ablutions I will give a 10 out of 10. Security alwsys around. One of the best places to spend over night or more. Situated in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Viewing points walking distance with breathtaking views of the 3 rondavels ang blyderivier dam.There is a shop, liquor store and petrol garage to get the necessity,s. I'll definitely visit again.

Great camping experience, the park and pool area was clean and well maintained. Loads of fun hikes to go on with varying difficulties ranging from a simple stroll through to very adventurous. Caravan park could use more ablution blocks, but it's not difficult to time your shower run. Close to a number of attractions as well.Location: 4/5

Love this place, it truely shares peace and tranquility for all ages. The facilities create a forever lasting memory and make you want to keep coming back.Rooms: 5/5

I would have given them a 5 because it’s a beautiful place. But I am surprised that such a reputable place doesn’t have plans for loadshedding and still use candles in this day and era. There are rechargeable lights and solar panels for lights only but this big resort doesn’t have that in place. The management should up their game. Loadshedding has been there since and is with us so please do something. Candles are risky. Besides that the place is beautiful and allows the best vantage point for viewing the Three Rondavels and have beautiful hiking trails

Great experience. The hiking trail are therapeutic , for people who enjoy being close to nature this would be a wonderful activity to do and with the Tufa trail there is this wonderful waterfall. I enjoyed the restaurant food top tier . I wouldn’t mind going back .Rooms: 5/5

We did the Loerie and guinea fowl trail. The Loerie trail needed good balance and lots of scrambling over slippery rocks as it ran adjacent to the river. The swimming spots were very good.

Rooms are good size. The service was friendly. The maintenance guy changed a lightbulb withing 10 minutes of us requesting. Toaster was also replaced very quicklyRooms: 3/5
