Escape to a rejuvenating oasis at Natal Spa Hot Springs & Leisure Resort, situated on the road between Vryheid and Paulpietersburg on the Battlefields Route.

Set on 800 hectares of KwaZulu-Natal bushveld, the Resort has access to approximately four kilometers of the Bivane River flowing through the property.

Famous for its serene location and the natural healing properties of the hot pools: at a source temperature of 37°C, the pools discovered in 1880, provide a constant supply of beneficial waters for guests and are well known for their anti-oxidant properties. Claims made by Alkaline Springs, in Europe, is that the South African Medicinal Springs are superior in mineral content, temperature and other essential elements.

Although the main attraction on the Resort is of course the hot mineral pools, another popular attraction is the great 110m long supertube.

For the active there are quad bike trails, squash, tennis, hiking, birding trails, mountain bike trails and fishing. Indoor, relax with some snooker or table tennis.

Highlights in the hotel include an airy dining room and terrace with lovely views of the garden and pool areas, among others. Buffet breakfasts and dinners or a'la carte dinners are on offer. Light meals are available from The Bistro, including snack platters, teas and scones, whilst the Raptors Restaurant bar is open from 10am until late which is a welcoming respite where guests can enjoy drinks and snacks. The Boulders Bar alongside the heated pools also offers another venue to meet up.

The accommodation throughout the Resort is tastefully decorated and each room has tea/coffee making facilities and TV, offering 11 Hotel Bouquet DSTV channels.

Set amongst giant Cambrian granite boulders that are millions of years old, and with abundant birdlife, the Resort is also an idyllic and beautiful setting for wedding receptions and conferences. Three well-equipped conference rooms, which can accommodate between 10 - 120 delegates, are available.

The Wellness Centre & Beauty Spa are also popular attractions on the Resort and offer guests revitalising and pampering massages and treatments to indulge in.

Very nice place with many things to do. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was good with clean white linen. The breakfast is first class and so also the restaurant. We enjoyed all the meals we had there. A good place to visit to unwind and relax.Rooms: 4/5

Natal Spa offers a delightful experience with a scrumptious breakfast buffet and amazing spa facilities. Although the rooms are old-fashioned, they are comfortable and clean. The breakfast spread is diverse and delicious, while the spa, including a wonderful jacuzzi, leaves you relaxed and rejuvenated. The staff is attentive and friendly. Despite the outdated rooms, Natal Spa is a haven for those seeking a tranquil retreat with excellent dining and spa amenities.

Lovely resort. Amazing hot springs. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Affordable. Great service with quad biking team. Great chalet cleaning service. Lovely wellness center for massages. Friendly staff. Good maintenance around property and garden areas.  Only negative thing I can say is that waitresses could be a bit more clued up on what's on the menu, but not a trainsmash.

Wonderful resort, especially enjoy it in winter. Always clean. Staff are all exceptionally helpful and friendly, from the reception, bar, restaurant, housekeeping, zip lining, spa right through to the ground keeping and maintenance staff.  Road to get there is not the greatest, but not the worst we've traveled on in terms of potholes.  Self catering unit was well maintained, we just had very noisy neighbors, drinking and partying until we eventually phoned reception in the early hours of the morning to have them silenced. This was done quickly and without any further disruptions.

Such a stunning place, went over Easter weekend, we booked a self serving chalet, absolutely massive, felt bigger than my own house. We arrived on Friday and were welcomed with open arms by the staff. There are plenty of activities to do, may it be horse riding, paintball, or even the super tube these you do need to pay for however are not super expensive. The hot springs were honestly amazing, felt refreshing and not super busy nor noisy. Honestly the best place for a getaway.

It's more like a retirement area than a holiday resort. Music can't be played in chalets. The bar also u cannot play music. The facilities like slides closes at 4h00 which is sad for the resort residents who check in. The hot springs place was the only beneficial place. The zip line places are quiet expensive for such a small distance. The super tube is R80pp for an hour which is unacceptable as it should be included for residents. The rooms are falling apart and has a miff smell. The bedding were not clean and dirty. The food buffet was absolutely bland and tasted bad. No taste or salt and was looking sad on presentation.  The bathrooms sink tops were rotting. This place serious needs maintenence and a new quote of paint.  The staff was the only good thing about the place. They were pleasant and really helpful.  Roads leading to the place was very bad. Lots of potholes & through some very isolated towns.

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very  friendly and helpful and the surroundings were beautiful, I definitely recommend going to the restaurant at the hotel the food was really good. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with all the activities. The only suggestion I would make is for the paintball equipment to be updated as some of the guns were not in working order, and the putt putt course was really fun just needs some tidying and maintenance. We would definitely book another stay in the near future. The chalets Falcon 1-3 were neat, clean and very comfortable beds,  definitely recommend.

I have a lot to say about this place. I came to Gooderson Natal Spa over the December holidays with my family, when we arrived the place looked nothing like the photos and videos we saw online the place looked depressing in person. When we arrived at our room we weren’t impressed. We asked for a room with a shower, but nothing was available the hotel was empty though. There was an ant infestation, There was no toilet roll holder in the bathroom, the handle had fell off our rooms door.  my son bought an ice cream from the bar and it was completely melted there were even bugs in the freezer it was kept in. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade though. For dinner on the first night, I ordered the beef salad for supper, it looked like plastic. I didn’t even touch the food. A day later we went to blood river where we had vetkoeks for lunch and had enough to take away. instead of going to the restaurant for supper, we chose to heat the vetkoeks up with a hairdryer there rent supposed to have microwaves in the rooms. There are many more imperfections with the place. Overall this place is a disappointing vacation spot.

I was quite impressed with the place it was gorgeous but I struggled with the service there was a lady named Sylvia who said "why do I have to serve them" when we didn't ask her to serve us but she was rather angry and served us as if she was giving the food to a group of dogs on the street but other than that we thank thus beautiful place and it's wonderful activities

Wonderful place to relax and unwind.loads of activities for kids to stay occupied.Rooms are spacious neat and clean,nice big bathrooms as well self catering chalets.staff were quite helpful and accomodating.the communal ablution facilities are really good with baths and showers.the pools are clean and well maintained.Only the road to the resort is quite bad,large watering holes for the roadside animals,besides that a lovely place to visit, definitely coming back.
