I booked my wife on greyhound because I believed they are safe and on time. Going to EL they decided to transfer her at King Williams town to another bus because only 2 people were going there and the rest to Umthatha. I can handle that, but now coming back to PE she was sms'sd and told she will be coming back on an eldo bus and the bus is 2 hours late. This is a downgrade and feel that she should be reimbursed. If this is how greyhound treats their passengers then this will be the last time.
I booked a city liner from plk to pta. I have never seen so many cockroaches in my life let alone in a bus. they were everywhere, seats, floor, roof, even in the toilet. They kept falling on us and climbing us. Turns out the roaches aren't the only problem, my son has sores all over him, looks like mosquito bites. That bus needs serious pest control or fumigation or whatever it is that you need to do to avoid kids being bitten and roaches roaming around. You don't deserve a single star for the plk to pta 27 Nov 22 8am trip. However in the Dreamliner to PE it's exceptionally clean and the driver's service is amazing those three stars are for him and his communication skills.
The service of Greyhound is a disgrace. They have a bus breakdown in Aliwal North and no backup bus. The Central Customer Care number wastes ones time by running an ongoing loop. The regional office in Port Elizabeth does not answer the phone.
We booked Greyhound only to be told that we will travel in a city liner when the bus arrived. The worst part is that Eldo Coaches didn’t even have the decency to apologize, clean the bus, it’s filthy, cheap and extremely uncomfortable. I am beyond disappointed ……. This is bullcrap and disrespect to paying clients.
I'm quite satisfied to be waiting here at their offices, for my 2 sons to be collected after their 40 days Jamaat trip. Bus seems to be semi-ontime. But overall, Greyhound provides an excellent bus ride with friendly, helpful on board hostess who might offer you a few snacks or at least a cup of tea. The ride is as comfy as a bus ride in South Africa can get, but then again we need to get from point A to point B and basically, Greyhound delivers and that should be enough to make us utilize their exquisite services. Life's a journey, continue riding along!
