My wife and I From UK went to Jock for 4 days to finish off our tour of South Africa and wow did we finish it off the right way. We arrived at Skukuza airport to be met Jany our ranger who was polite, professional and from the off driving back to the lodge was on the look out for animals and educating us. We then arrived at the lodge to warm scented cloths to clean up from the drive, were welcomed incredibly well and shown to our lodge. We got freshened up, a bite to eat and then out for our evening game drive where Jany drove us around the areas he felt we would get best viewings based on where animals had been moving round earlier on, we were very fortunate but a lot of that fortune sits with Jany getting us in the right places to see the big 5 in the first day we were there. This started the 4 days so well and each morning and evening game drive gave us incredible amazing experiences that I thought before going would be once in a lifetime, I am now craving going back and will definitely be to Jock again. The stopping off out on the drives for tea/coffee in the morning and for a beer/wine/soft drink in the evening with amazing views is an unforgettable experience with the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The team at Jock are so polite, welcoming and really go the extra mile to remember who you are, chat to you about your day and your drives and get you anything you need. The lodge itself overall is hidden away in Skukuza and until you are at the gate you wouldn't know it's there due to their own private concession, it's in the trees and vegetation on the river but also completely safe, food is amazing with plenty of options and eating an evening meal on the river bed is completely unique. Our room was private with a plunge pool, day bed with view down the river where animals often walk down close by, the room is stylishly decorated in theme with safari and the history of where Jock originated from and is cleaned daily so no complaints at all there. Overall, I could not recommend Jock enough and have told all my friends and family to get Safari on the bucket list as a must do and to go to Jock as their hospitality and expertise in safari are amazing, I have nothing to compare to but nor do I need to as the experience was simply perfect.
An unforgettable experience for myself and my friend, as we decided to take in a safari experience whilst travelling from the Netherlands for a wedding in South Africa. The location was perfect, the dry river bed becoming a thoroughfare for numerous large animals, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, and that was even before going out on the game drives! The views here are amazing, if I had actually been travelling with a lady then I would call it romantic! Our guide, Dawid was outstanding… knowledgable, friendly, great banter and on hand with a good whisky at sunset on the game drives. First night there, a game drive in a spectacular thunderstorm! The diversity of the nature out there is mind-blowingly beautiful, but there is always a close reminder that without our expert guide, we could just as easily be lunch for one of a number of these majestic animals. Aside from our guide, the staff at the lodge are fantastic, they are welcoming, friendly, and nothing is too much bother for them, I felt immediately at home there. The food is of an incredibly high standard and the views during mealtimes are like something only the imagination could conjure up! I could have stayed much longer if I had known just how much I’d enjoy it… I would love to return here, again and again given the opportunity!
Incredible experience in a most privileged position in Kruger National Park. Lazarus our ranger and guide was exceptionally knowledgeable. We had fantastic hospitality when at the lodge, made use of the beautiful pool, bar and deck facilities. But each room is so private, secluded and spacious you needn't leave it if you want more privacy. We saw many animals from the lodge itself, enjoyed the morning and evening drives and even had our outdoor bed made up for one night under the stars. This is luxury safariing for those who want a true experience that honours the animals, conservation but delicious food and comfort around the edges. Recommend fully.
We recently had the profound pleasure of embarking on a 3-day trip to Jock Safari Lodge in Skukuza, from the 26th to the 29th of June, and I must say, it was an experience like no other. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional service that went above and beyond our expectations. The game drives were the highlights of our stay, and credit must be given where it's due. Our ranger, Mr. Janni , was the epitome of professionalism and passion. His profound knowledge and deep-rooted experience in navigating the wilderness left us in awe. Every game drive with Mr. Janni felt like a thrilling adventure, his interpretation of nature's intricate details transforming it into a live documentary that we had the privilege to star in. The hospitality offered by the team was, quite simply, unparalleled. The phrase "5-star" doesn't quite encompass how well we were taken care of. The attention to detail, the personal touches, and the genuine warmth we experienced were astounding. It was as if we were not merely guests, but cherished members of the lodge's family. The staff at Jock Safari Lodge have truly mastered the delicate art of creating a luxurious, yet homey atmosphere. To anyone considering a safari experience, I cannot recommend Jock Safari Lodge enough. It's not just the place, it's the people and the unique moments they help create that elevate it to a level that can only be described as extraordinary. This isn't just a safari, it's an immersive journey into the heart of nature, guided by those who know and love the land like no other. Jock Safari Lodge, you've set the bar exceedingly high. We can't wait to return.
WOW is probably the best way to describe Jock. Total luxury in the heart of the Kruger Park. Knowledgeable safari rangers thank you Jacob!; courteous and friendly staff; and the food was excellent throughout. The lodge only caters for 24 people at a time and there are more staff than guests so prepare to be well looked after. Don't miss the experience of sleeping outside at night on your private terrace in a bed under a netted tent, there's nothing like waking up to a herd of elephants walking by. Many thanks to all at Jock for making our stay the experience of a life time.
Hands down, this was the experience of a lifetime. The entire staff made us feel like part of the family and spoiled us through our entire stay. Our ranger, Jan, made our safari experience absolutely incredible. We saw the big 5 within 24 hours of our arrival and learned so much about the animals, our surroundings and the history of the area. The rooms were luxurious and clean... the restaurant served amazing food. We hope to come back sooner rather than later; we'll remember this experience for the rest of our lives :
This place is just fantastic! Perfectly situated. Fabulous accommodation. Super friendly and helpful staff. The Rangers were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Relaxed atmosphere. Peaceful. Exciting. Just amazing! Rooms: The accommodation is just perfect. Extremely clean and comfortable with a mixture of drinks and snacks provided. Indoor and outdoor showers and a bath. Fantastic being able to see the animals from our private terrace with the day bed too. We slept outside on a couple of nights. Listening to the birds and even lions vocalising. Wonderful. With the added international plugs and USB ports, it was great not to have to worry about adapters too. Safety: Absolutely no need to worry about safety. You are completely surrounded buy an electric fence. Rangers and staff are completely equipped and their are panic buttons in the room too. Food & drinks: They food was delicious, catering for all dietary requirements with not bother at all. The chef's were fantastic. Super friendly making sure everything was to your taste and expectations. Noteworthy details: The on site Spa is fabulous. A great variety of treatments offered for all ages at extremely reasonable rates. Although there is a fabulous and full itinerary, make sure you take the time to look around. The views from the bar and restaurant areas are great for sunrise and sunset. Not to mention being able to sit and watch all of the animals pass by.
I recently had the immense pleasure of spending 4 nights here an all I really have to say is "AWESOME"!!!! From the service, the rooms, the guides, the food and the game viewings, everything was just magical and incredible! Kudos to the entire Jock's team... I can't wait to come back!Rooms: 5/5
We spent our 1 year wedding anniversary at jock after having our wedding there last year. To us, this is the most special place in the Kruger. The staff are on another level. Phil and the rest of jocks team go above and beyond for their guests. We will be back next year and will recommend Jock to anyone we can. Thank you for such a special holiday.
Can’t say enough how wonderful Jock Safari Lodge is! Our family stayed 3 nights here, which would be the most unforgettable experience in our life. Louis and his team made everything possible to make our stay perfect. The service and the foods are far beyond 5 stars. Our ranger Jacob is witty and knowledgeable. He really tries to bring the best of game drive to us. Thanks, Jock! We will come back!
