Awful. Had a burst pipe outside my house over 2 weeks ago and they were going to come back in 24/48hrs after they drained the fire hydrant. They haven’t come back since and water is still running out. I logged a call a week ago and they said they’ll be there within 24 hours. I called 3 days later and they said they were escalating it. Another 4 days, they’re still not here. Terrible terrible terrible service and to get someone to answer the phone, you wait about 30 minutes.
JHB Water team well done!!! I want to send an congratulations to one of JHB Water teams that took time and effort to look for the fault with the water that was gushing excessive at our water meters. The water was seeping through my wall and in to my yard. There was 2 teams that came to look and were busy for an wile them and drove off and nothing happend. 3de team was the BOM everyone knew what was expected of them and working in unison with each other to get the issue sorted as quick as possible. Thank you to the team Sandile Nzama, Chrish Shiviti and Joline Riekert. JHB Water should be proud of that team that has got so much passion for what they do and do it right the first time.
I am shaken to the core with the so - prevalent incompetence that characterizes our parastatals. I returned home on Tuesday to find the absence of water supply to my residence;on further investigation , I found that in attempting to install a new water meter for my residence, the technicians have caused a major water leakage. The water is gushing from the meter and transforming our street into a river! Thereupon, I immediately made contact with Joburg water on Tuesday, today is Friday and there has been no sign of the repair team yet! And that is subsequent to multiple calls made to the customer care center! It is tragic to see a once thriving country on the verge of utter collapse because of the absence of proper governance!!!
I mean I have been trying to get hold of these people ages now, to no avail. Our water meter is faulty and keeps running, even when there are no taps or leaks present. They have been billing us excessively for the last 4 months and we cannot get this resolved. They are literally billing us significantly in excess for water we are not using an nobody cares to come out and assist us with this issue. What on earth are we supposed to do? There is no alternative. Even with all these 1 star reviews, it makes no difference because people don't have a choice to go elsewhere for this service... Frustrating to say the least.
We do not award any stars ie zero, for Joburg water. However I'm obliged to give at least one star otherwise I don't get given the option of posting this comment. We have been charged excessive monthly amounts for a water meter that is not ours. Despite many emails and photographic evidence, we have had zero response. What more can we do? Communicating with the man in the moon would probably be easier.
Terrible service, sewerage from outside my yard has been seeping into my yard! Damaging my wall . went to the council office and 3 people there all doing nothing but playing on their phones!!! After calling the call centre, on line waiting for a consultant 30 min, they just dropped and all that he could say was “this is poor service” never did anything else to assist.
I have tried calling several times, SMS and also tried using your website to log a water leak via your website since early hours of the morning The water meter outside my house has burst and water is running everywhere I had to call a plumber to stop the water from running excessively due to no response from Joburg Water. This has caused damage to my wall as well as excess water with no supply to my main house.
Reported that the municipal drain was blocked on Saturday afternoon. They undertook to respond within 24 hours. Sunday afternoon they arrived and very efficiently cleared it with high pressure water. Great service indeed!
Thanks to the JW team that came to connect the water mains to a new complex development in Ashley Avenue, Bryanston today. They were so intent on getting the job done as quickly as possible, damaging that the underground electrical cable supplying the surrounding area in the process. I went out to see what was happening and the JW team couldn't care less. We have subsequently been without electricity for the last 9 hours and counting.
Water quality seem to deteriorated into alarming state. So, I filled a 5 liter bottle from my house tap as reserve, since I have been notified water would be cut in my area for a few days, in about a week I found water turning greenish, and there are algae forming at the bottom, what on earth you people doing there? Not changing filters, and maintaining related infrastructure I’m guessing? All the hard earn money we paid as taxes to SARS is again wasted? stolen? Misused?
