John Dorys Fish, Grill. Sushi - Baywest Mall

My husband and I had the most delicious brunch at John Dory's Bay West today. My husband's birthday was in March and he received a R100 gift voucher from John Dory's Member club to use any time during his birthday month Thank you JD's, that is a welcome birthday gift!. He enjoyed the breakfast Special with bottomless coffee and I enjoyed the BigCatchPlatter with grilled fish! The waitress and staff were so helpful and friendly! Our food was as usual perfectly prepared and we enjoyed a lovely meal! I can recommend the BigCatchPlatter special, which is still available, for all the seafood lovers. 8 Calamari strips, 2 JD fillets, 4 JD prawns, served with rice and chips.

Okay so I love the Salmon Avolanche salad and I get it all the time. I usually order at the store and take it home but then I decided to order via Uber eats and OMW was I SHOCKED at the quality and Quantity I received! It was not even HALF of the normal portion and the salad is R99!! The way it was even packaged was TERRIBLE. I haven't ordered again since and I really miss my salad. Posting pictures as proof.

Nice , new spec restaurant, nice new menu items. However, were seated at a dirty table , service very slow , the waiter disappeared for long periods. Best of all , not to busy. Seems there is not enough waiters on this shift.

The prawn avalanche was great as usual. We had a lovely cheese prawn starter. The spring rolls we had was tasteless. We also ordered a calamari and chorizo starter. This was the spicest thing I have ever eaten. I had to order an extra 2 rolls to dampen the burn and I couldn't finish it. The flavour was there but very difficult for me to have finished.

Waited forever and a day for the food. When it arrived it wasn't that great. SUSHI was lovely though just a pity we had to wait 1 hour for it. Service was nothing exceptional. Waitress could do with more training.Food: 3/5

Really enjoyed our meal and the good service. Would recommend it for sushi and fish lovers. Kid-friendliness: Play area is safe and secure.

Not very impressed...closing time showed 9pm we got there just on 8pm and was told they closed and we could not be seated. A bit disappointed to say the least, and there were available tables to be seated, and we waited in the que where the couple in front of us were seated and were showed away and told they were the last and they are closed

Customer service was fantastic. The food was very delicious, especially their captain's hook platter. Keep up the good work.

Staff was amazing. They were all friendly full of jokes. Keep asking if we were ok. It is worth going to John Dory's Bay West

Good food and staff. Food does not as great as Cape Town but the friendly staff makes up for it. Be prepared to wait very long for the Wednesday sushi special. We were told it would take 40 mins but waited more than an hour.
