John Dorys Fish, Grill, Sushi. - Galleria

Had New Year’s Day Dinner here and I must say we enjoyed ourselves. From service to food was great. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Prices are decent considering the freshness of products. Nothing that was special or that stood out hence the 4. Was a great experience overall and I would recommend trying them.

Me and my Husband love going here! Most waiters are very helpful. We love the sushi the most, just a big wait on Wednesdays when its half price sushi day so just make sure to have a long wait outside and when you have order. But definitely worth the waitFood: 5/5

I've always had pleasant experiences here. Staff are friendly everytime. The food is great, always done with pride especially the sushi, its the best in Durban as far as John dorys go, and on Wednesday we never have to wait over an hour like most places. The food is fast always taste food The bathrooms are always clean. Its definitely the best John dorys in Durban!

Best best best seafood ever. I have been to a few John Dory's and other restaurants. And the food at this John Dory's was just fantastic. Well done from me and my family. Madelaine was helping us and her service was absolutely amazing!!

Service very slow, we were taken to our table and basically left. Eventually I had to get up and find a waitress to attend to our table. Then there was a long wait between getting drinks, starters and main meal. Never even saw the floor manager at all. All n' all poor from start to finish.

I get to enjoy the sea food when the source is well prepared. For me sea food is all about the sorce that makes it enjoyable. And I must admit that you did an amazing job your food was excellent.Food: 4/5

My first time eating at John Dorys Galleria. We ordered Sushi and we really enjoyed it. Our waiter was pleasant and friendly. However, the reason for my 3 stars is we were very disturbed at how the manager by the name of Sifiso treated the staff. He is very rude to them in front of customers. He never once went to any table and spoke to any of the customers while we were there ,instead stood around just bossing the staff in front of us which is so unprofessional. Its like he wanted to show customers who is in charge but it definitely didnt make him look cool and we certainly didn't appreciate seeing how they were treated and it also doesn't look good on the franchise that people are hired to treat staff in such a rude and condescending manner. We felt really bad for them. His attitude is really unprofessional. If he needed to reprimand staff then he could have done so quietly and away from customers. I had to leave this comment because I for one will certainly think twice before coming there again.

If you are looking for inexpensive food with no effort being made to make sure that it is actually fresh, then John Dorys is your place. Unfortunately, every single branch I have been too has been a disappointment to say the least. I have now vowed to never visit again as their service, food and hygiene never changes. This, after being to almost every branch in Durban thinking that they would all be different. Our last visit in Galleria prompted us to not even finish our half burnt meal and leave. Rice is never cooked properly, seafood always has the smell of sea, not in a good way and it really questions the manner in which they preserve and handle their food. To avoid any future food poisoning, stay clear. You cannot beat the quality of food in places like Adega or Oceans Basket.

The last two times i have been there and ordered takeaway i was disappointed with my food. The first time the rice was off and the portions were very small, i thought it was a mistake and didn't make a huge deal. The second time i ordered mussels, they was 4 shells and two were empty and they were not fresh.
