Southway Mall

Loved it. Despite the damage from floods and looting, they renovated the place and the touch ups... The place looks better than before. Checkers was amazing with good fresh food and good prices

The shops are all either up and running or have been replaced. Good centre for quick visits. The Checkers is fantastic - very good range of products and looks respectable.

This another Mall that I always like to go and shopping because it's neat and tidy spacious with lot of shops where a person can do shopping at peace without any hussles, further more there at Checkers they've got natural spring water that shoppers can buy at a cheap one price from their water dispenser. I like that very well much because I other than malls they are don't have to that and.

It's a small but convenient for commuters and very helpful for people that work in the area. It would be more greatful if they added banks as the have only Capitec branch.

Very neat and tidy need to just work on their customer experience

Love the free parking, haven't experienced or heard of lack of safety and security.

REVIEW: KFC Southway Mall The old Colonel and I abruptly parted ways some two years ago. If your curiosity is peeked, then I suppose I should divulge, we had a parting of ways, due to irreconcilable differences. He insisted on charging me top dollar for in my opinion, waning quality food and I was having none of it! Add to this those unspeakable pics, of his offerings all over social media and google feeds. You then, find reasoning to my distancing myself, from all his outlets. Stores closer to me having let me and my cravings down repeatedly, found me not darkening his doorways. The chance meeting today, being in close proximity, to what in my opinion is one of the very few outlets, with a history of Quality Food and Service, is KFC Southway Mall. Ravenous and in a somewhat forgiving mood, I rushed into the KFC Southway Mall. Stomach growling, aromas of Fried Chicken in the air and I was back. Swallowing all the harsh things I said about all things KFC. I found myself tail wagging, puppy eyed browsing the overhead menu. Whilst a smiling, friendly Nonsikelelo awaited me, patiently and cheerfully. The first, disappointment was the entire menu, had changed!!! He was having none of that, budget meal fast-food nonsense, from me. I suppose he's still grumpy I fled two years ago! Secondly, absolutely nothing, looked appealing, as it used to and I suppose that's to be expected, when seeing your ex after some time. Eventually, my man having been patiently observing this reunion had, had enough. He marched up to the counter, cash in hand and said, " Variety Lunch Box". I know right, typical woman we can never make up our minds and this brilliant fellow, knowing me all too well, chose Variety!!! Smart fellow my man! Needless to say, the Crunch Burger, One Piece, Small Chips and Small Soda machine soda in a paper cup was prepped in a few minutes. Not convinced, this would fill the hole in my ravenous belly, I opted for a Regular Mash and Gravy. I notified the smiling, shy, Nonsikelelo that I, was expecting the Centre Breast. If you going to give me only one piece of chicken, from KFC Southway Mall or any KFC that would be it. I received a fresh, soft bun burger, loaded with ample fresh shredded lettuce and enough sauce. The Cheese Slice as I remember. The Crunch Burger Fillet, was half the size I remember. So thin and small in fact, that I filled the burger, with the dry chips to hydrate the chips, and bulk up the burger!!! The Crunch alas, non existent as you can well see, from my pics. The Fries sadly, tasted as bleh and dry as they look. Grabbed an extra Hot Dog Roll from the Bread Box to supplement my Burger with chips as I was absolutely hungry still!! Loaded the rest of the dry chips with home sourced sauce and the skin of the breast piece. I had put the piece of chicken and Mash and Gravy in the fridge, as I was too heartbroken to eat anymore. Then later on, let me be thorough, so here's my taste review on the gravy with Chicken Centre Breast five hrs later... Chicken was meaty, soft and well cooked, not oily at all after I warmed it up in the Airfryer. The Mash and Gravy imposter was horrible!!! Runny, thin, watery, flavorless. One would be forgiven for thinking, it was punishment gravy, that Oliver Twist could relate to!!! I literally topped it with crispy fried onion rings, to try conjure up some favorable taste!!! Oh now I remember why the Colonel and I parted ways, Now I Remember!!!! My overall experience: Service 9/10 Venue 9/10 Food 5/10 Value 5/10

The most cleanest mall in m7 just little walk from engen garage to the mall especially for the truck drivers I wish all the towns can have some shopping malls next to the truck ways because we are struggling to buy in the towns avoiding heavy tickets

I wasn't entirely enthused with my experience, on their website they said "Southway Mall is a popular shopping destination south of Durban, providing a wide range of shops to suit a variety of needs." but it's an unappealing mall with few shops. The only bank they have is Capitec. But it's useful because it is located next to a very popular Rossburg Vehicle Testing Ground, Checkers is its anchor grocery supermarket, parking is plenty and has petrol station. There's nowhere else to shop in the neighbouring suburbs in all directions unless if you are willing to drive 13 minutes to The Pavilion Mall for a better shopping experience. Southway mall has ATMs and, to its credit, a Post Office, Debonairs, KFC with a drive through and Spur with good staff and service. The floor staff at Midas are also friendly, as are the car guards.
