Karl Bremer Hospital

A bad hospital I would not even send my dog there they just don't take pride in their work or even have ability to help patients .the elderly will wait hours before they gonna be seen.the nurse can not tell you okay you a yellow sticker you not that bad like they can see what's going on inside your body. Even eesteriver hospital does a better job with their patients,because they take pride in what they do.

Rushed our 2 day old daughter to Karl Bremer! Staff on 3C nursery did an amazing job, taking care of her, I didn't feel scared to leave her alone after feeds, they were more than competent for what they needed to do. The nurses and doctors in the nursery on 3C, night and day staff. Thank you! I first hand experienced that they did an amazing job with all the babies at our week stay. It was long, but we came home with a healthy, blessed and happy baby.

Update: Young doctor saw him and his state, managed to sort a bed out and get process rolling, nearly a day later but i will give more stars as the service is getting better. USELESS. not even worth a star. No ways anyone can gives this place a high rating.. Dad went there last night at 10pm with an ambulance for ICU, has been sitting in a FKN chair the whole day. JUST NEEDS SOME TESTS THEN CAN GO TO TYGERBURG!!! USELESS HOSPITAL RUN BY A MORE USELESS GOVERNMENT

Does not even deserve a star. Absolute atrocious! My mom was booked in August via emergency as she broke her hip. The radiologist pulled her broken leg around and when my mom cried in pain she yelled at her. Some small little insignificant excuse for a human obviously motivated by her title. Then the nurses forgot to empty my moms catheter bag and the urine went back up and mom was left in excruciating pain.the cleaner/tea lady Lulu looks at the treats the patients have and skimps for it. Then the nurses left her 90 year old room mate in a soiled diaper and will rather have conversation than do their jobs. Mom was in for twelve days and came out gaunt coz for some reason she was only fed rice. I think the hospital needs to re-evaluate their staff and establish whose in it for the passion, whose in it to just get a pay cheque and whose in it to benefit from the poor sick people. An absolute disgrace! I couldn't even complain for fear that my mom would be treated worse. And whose stealing the hospital food because I been to Tygerberg and they serve actual meals.surely our tax money can afford better nutrition in the state hospitals.

Very friendly doctors but the sisters/nurses have no common etiquette on how to treat or speak to people. If I wanted someone with an attitude and get treated like an animal I would of gone to a zoo and locked myself in a cage. Was hooked up to the machine that monitors baby's heart rate and it was done so roughly and so tight that it left deep imprints after the whole process and the room was so cold I was shaking. Worst experience I've ever had. Was also my first time at the hospital so I had no idea how things worked there. Highly disappointed. I could say more but I truly think the hospital staff should be something they look at

Worse treatment of my life. Sat in emergency with pain for 24 hours. I came with doctor note and scan from private dr. Had to jave my gallbladder removed. I was admitted amd kept there for 3 days. No food given we got old molded bread. No pillow and no blankets. Men and women have to share shower and toilets. And they injected me accidentally with the women next to me blood thinners.

I am baffled. Shocked. Gobsmacked. In fact, I have no words. I'm heartbroken and utterly disappointed. Shame on you. Ps: while sitting in the waiting room with my mother who is still waiting to be admitted after 13 hours with a severe case I observed the nurses on duty. I would recommend some personal development training where patient care is the focus as well as communication because quite frankly, you need it. Urgently.

The hospital has bad services, sick and ill people comes to the hospital for treatment and with emergencies. The doctors and nurses aren't taking they job serious. Their talking with eachother, dance and having private meetingsnot concerning the patients. The hospital is unorganized and the staff sympathy towards the patients. Me and my wife lost our first baby Wednesday morning at 3am, she was rushed to the wait long hours before she was help. She was in unbearable pain for hours long. She has a miscarriaged and they gave her pills to abortion our baby who has passed away. The gynae told her to come back Saturday which is today 08/04/2023. This is an Emergency section which means people need to be attended to especially when there's life threatening conditions for as their posters shows, and for the principals of the hospital, and for the oath of the staff . Handing over of staff starts at 7am till 7pm. We been here since 7 am without being helped. I understand that handing over takes a little time but it most sincerely can't take 2 hours before they should help their patients. I feel like the doctor and the rest of the staffsecurity included aren't standing up for their oaths, and isn't doing their work effectively. The hospital is unorganized and slow for the emergency section.

I gave birth in December 2022 at life VP hospital. My daughter was born with jaundice. We were transferred to Karl bremer because they have the best machines in the maternity Ward. In my 3 days of staying there I was treated badly and staying in holding and could not leave which is understandable,feeds were EVERY 2 hours . I had to go and feed her on the 3 flour, TIRED, STRESSED as a first time mom I was concerned about my baby's health and I obviously asked questions,they were dismissive and I didn't get proper answers, the nurses are Rude and they tell you that they have 18 other babies that they need to attend to . The living conditions are pathetic and not safe where I never slept at all I stayed with 2 other girls mom'sand we had our own bathroom which staff and other male patients would use . They would just walk in and we told them to leave but we don't know what happens when we have to go and feed our babies for 1h30mins. They force you to breastfeed and at the time I struggled. She didn't latch as her mouth was a bit to small. They told me if I didn't that I wouldn't leave . Bare in mind that my baby was in a incubator under the lights phototherapy.she was there because of jaundice and not because I couldn't breastfeed. I couldn't exactly take her out and feed her but they demanded that I should. That prolonged our stay there because she wasn't improving and when I went back on the second day to feed her she was so out of it she didn't want to wake up because that's what the jaundice does, she had a very rare type. I don't recommend this hospital to first time moms, it's traumatic and you don't deserve to be treated that way . Not all the staff are bad I had a few lovely and kind nurses mostly the day shift. Karl bremer hospital I must say have the best equipment but waay to little staff. We need to fix the system!

This hospital don't even deserve a star. Took my sister in law to the hospital after she had a stroke. Dr sent her home with meds. After 5 days took her back to hospital. She waited there at emergency from the morning just to be told at 8 at night that they can't help her. How flippen disgusting
