A Warm welcome from friendly staff made us feel at home from the moment we entered Kraal Restaurant. The atmosphere is luxurious African and relaxed. The service was excellent. The table waiter as well as other staff are attentive and immediately sense when you need something. The extensive menu caters for a wide variety of tastes. Fine dining with exquisite food plating, mouthwatering, delicious and flavourful dishes. Clean, neat and well maintained restrooms. Beautiful garden trails and a huge playground for the kids. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Well worth the drive.
On Saturday 10/09/2022 I hosted a surprise birthday lunch for my partner. A special thank you to Melissa for being involved from the early stages of the planning to the actual day and making it so special. Few things that really stood out for me. Deco: We got the best table with the most amazing view. The table was nicely set up, lightning in the room so perfect as well as flowers from the ceiling, pity I cant upload a video. Food: What is a party without food, well we had the best food, with so many options to choose from their set menu. Starters were scrumptious, the main portions were so big I was so full I could barely sit. The dessert were nicely plated and well balanced in terms of the sweetness. Waiter: What am amazing gentleman Sky was. Always made sure he got everyone's order right and on time. When we went to take pictures he kindly came to let us know that our meals were ready for us to go back and indulge. Thank you so much for making every guest feel important, your service is remarkable. Overall service: I was highly satisfied with the service I got, this place is indeed a gem, you clearly see the team effort and the attention that goes into every little detail. For your next event, please reserve yourself a table at this establishment. Your guests will surely leave the place as happy people. Thank you, Thank you Melissa and Team!!!!
Beautiful restaurant, it's a hidden gem! You even forget that you still in Joburg. Make sure you make your booking well in advance because it does get very busy. The food was delicious! The drinks were bland. Lots of greenery outside for beautiful pictures. Definitely a nice restaurant to try out if you haven't already. My rating is 3 stars because we had to wait for our food and drinks. The kichen staff and Barman were not efficient.
We stayed at the hotel for a few nights, and had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The service is probably the best I've experienced yet. Dinner is quite pricey, but the quality of the food was great. Breakfast was good, and overall good value too, although the chocolate croissant was a real disappointment.
The place is really lovely. The ambience, the staff and the kiddies area are all really great. The food was a bit of a letdown. The starter portions are reasonable. We ordered chicken livers, mussels and the chicken wings. They were all just okay, nothing spectacular. For mains we got the Mexicana pizza, Rump steak and the kiddies Regina pizza. The steak was overdone, we requested it to be medium - well but it came out hard.. The manager offered a sauce to with it saying that medium-well is dry and hard because the steak is thin. The pizza was bland.. Nothing to it. Our waitress was oh so sweet, her name is KB and she really made the experience a great one.
Such a lovely hidden gem in a serene place. We were served by Ike who was very warm and welcoming. The food exceeded our expectations, we chose different dishes and they were both for the gods! We throroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely recommend the Kraal Restaurant.
Should’ve paid attention to the websites warning about waiters asking for tips. Ours wrote his own amount on the bill and asked for it in cash, lucky for him we were drunk and balling, woke up the next morning like “nooor man !” Otherwise cute restaurant in a very beautiful setting, 6/10 for presentation of food. 4/10 for taste.
Celebrated a friend's baby sprinkle at Kraal restaurant. I would really like to send a word of gratitude to Sibusiso on advising on the different options we could consider for the celebration, and which we opted for Kraal restaurant for cost efficiency. Needless to say much as I was on a budget the team did exceptionally well to ensure that everything was beautiful and fitting. Thank you to the manager on duty on 19 March who allowed the friendly waiters to assist with preparing our table. Thank you to the staff at the door for a warm welcome. Our guests really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully kept clean with very minimal décor needed considered we were having a shower. I would recommend Kraal any day for hosting such intimate events. Sibusiso keep up the good work and thanks for constantly checking up on our reservation and ensuring that all requirements were met.
Everything was topnotch. From the starters, main course, dessert and drinks. The portions are quite big. Our waiter was always on hand without being intrusive. Very ambient atmosphere. Would definitely go back againFood: 5/5
Kraal Restaurant is located inside the Thaba Echo Hotel property. Menu has a good variety and easy in the pallet no complex flavours or food combinations. Ideal venue for a family outing , friends get together‍‍‍‍‍‍ or possibly a team breakfast /lunch /dinner.
