"Larry's Family Restaurant in Margate will ensure that your visit is a memorable one. We are ideally-located on Panorama Parade overlooking the popular Margate beachfront and paddling pool. It is a strikingly different and original eatery. For more than 20 years, the names of patrons have been burnt into wood panels, which have been used to decorate the walls, ceiling and furniture, both inside and on the verandah. Some patrons do it just for fun, but most to commemorate a special day.Also a feature of long standing at Larry's is the quality of service and variety on its menu. The menu is both extensive and extremely flexible. In addition to a full range of steaks, burgers, seafood, pasta, pizza, grills and baskets."

The food was lovely. Staff came forth as cold. And they were moving a watered-down, almost empty bottle of Tabasco from table to table for the oysters. This was the only tabasco available in the restaurant. Otherwise, it was a great vibe and wonderful family dining choice. Kid-friendliness: Wonderful and very entertaining kids play area, also very safe.
Extremely racist environment. No waiters were to be seen as we entered. We had to seat ourselves. Waiters only noticed us after 20 minutes to hand us a menu, which at this point I told my partner I want to leave as we were being completely ignored but he insisted that we stay, waiters kept walking by us but nobody stopped. There were plenty staff working and the restaurant was not very busy...this makes me believe that an issue of racism is at play. Staff were entertaining white customers and ignoring us people of colour... When we questioned a waiter about this... We were told that the group of customers being entertained were good friends of the waiters. I witnessed white waiters dealing with orders, bringing our food and drinks and clearing out tables, thereafter a person of colour came out to wipe down the tables. If you're a white person I highly suggest u going to this place because you will get top priority but if you are a person of colour I seriously do not recommend putting yourself through the amount of pain I felt being at this restaurant. We had foods that were fried and it was extremely oily and seemed as if it was not well drained.
We really enjoyed this restaurant . The food is lovely and the staff is friendly. We took our dog willow to the restaurant since it was pet friendly and we had no problems. The views from the outside seating area is amazing. There is a designated smoke area. There is comfortable seating area outside and inside. A must visit when you are in the Uvongo area. Kid-friendliness: There is a play area for the kids with a small jungle gym so the kids can have a good time while you relax and have a bite. Parking: There is more than enough parking space available. Wheelchair accessibility: I did not see a ramp access.
A beautiful way to end the day. Enjoy a ray of fantastic food as the sound of the ocean sets the ambiance for you and your family with a panoramic view of the Indian ocean.
Larry's is on the corner of the suburb, the last street before the beautiful ocean greets you. There's an ocean pool and majestic rocks as your scenery. The food quality and portion size is great however the evening we arrived we had our prawns served cold. The food was delicious so we didn't mind too much. Definitely a place to visit when on the south coast.

Great for Adults and Children. Spectacular view and very friendly staff. Stunning atmosphere and very delicious food. The play area for children is beautiful and clean.
Larry's is seriously underrated! Apart from great service and a breathtaking view, their food is absolutely fantastic! I know the usual things like pizzas and steaks gets all the attention, but they make a super Blue Cheese Salad - I've gone back repeatedly JUST for that salad! It's child and adult friendly, and their prices are reasonable. Love Larry's!
Originally we ordered breakfast,which closes @ 12h00. Only to be told that they have no more ingredients to make breakfast due to the two public holidays. So we ordered something else. Overall good vibe.Place was cooking. Food was ok. My Hake & chips were tasty. My partners had burgers.Which they enjoyed. Chips are nice & rustic.
