It was extremely noisy during the morning hours 02:00 - 04:00 with other guests walking around making alot of noise. It was strange that security does not walk around and monitor. The cleaners can also be a bit more considerate while cleaning. I was working at that time and was talking on the phone, while talking the lady threw all the dishes in the sink with a loud bang and dropped everything very loudly, when my partner told her that I'm on the phone and working, she continued to loudly pack the plates in a loud manner and gave us a stink eye. The place is modern and quite neat. The gardens, pool, game room and tennis court is well maintained and was even nicer that it is free to use. They have a generator which is nice and helpful. Please note, the sauna does not work and the air-conditioning as well but we did not mind. The sauna area is not open, which i would have enjoyed but it is not a problem. Reception is open 24 hours and very helpful for emergencies. Do take note that there might be a conference which is a bit noisy, but they finish up around 23:00 and did not disturb us that much, the hotel will also let you know upfront for you to decide. I will advise for a short stay. Rooms: The room interior design is nice. It requires maintenance as there is no locks on some doors and the handles is lose and not closing the door properly. The bathroom door did not have a handle or lock which made it easy for the wind to push the door open while i was taking a shower, do note that kids will be able to slide the doors open while you try to relax! There was a few cockroaches in the unit that came to visit us. The braai area is leaking, making it difficult to braai. There is a big Tv but weak signal. Quite spacious. There is nice showers and a very big bath. The soap holders can be cleaned properly as i saw all colours of soap sticking on the holder. The kitchen is pretty. The unit smelled funny sometimes like sewerage and the pillows also had a funky smell. Overall, there can be improvement, but my first impression when I walked in, was that the place was very modern and neat. Nearby activities: They have a nice restaurant in the premises. They serve drinks, milkshakes, food and desserts with lovely music and interior wise, very jazzy. There is a nice view of the ocean as well and they have a nice deck. C Bali is nearby on the beach. Great restaurant that is 1 minute away from the beach. Shelly centre is 5 minutes away from the hotel. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. Safety: It is very safe there. I was not suspicious once that someone will rob us. The beach nearby is also peaceful and quiet. Walkability: The beach is walking distance 5 minutes away. With regards to luggage, there is guys that will help you with your luggage which was nice. Food & drinks: Food and drinks was nice. The desserts was quite small for the price you pay. Drinks was nice and cheaper. The food was nice. My pasta was quite oily and my stomach was upset afterwards, but it was nice still. My partner had a burger and he said it was very nice. Their milkshakes was also thick and creamy.
The facility has significantly improved in terms of customer service, care and detail to attention. I wasn't thrilled with my room room 10 the doors allow too much of light in, I could literally hear my neighbours cough and sneeze and make a din, which wasn't nice. The room was cosy though. I like good coffee and they have really upped their standard. Don't have to take my own machine when I stay there again, as I used to.
This place is a favourite of mine. I've been to St Michael's beach almost every year since birth, and when my gran's accommodation was bought, we started using this place, and it was good enough to now have become part of the nostalgia. It is a great place in its own right too! Rooms: I think the rooms are simple and effective, well laid out with a good amount of space. Their colour scheme is their best point in my opinion. They feel beachy : Walkability: Considering how many units there are here, they've done well with walkability. Their proximity to the beach is a winner here for walkability too - literally on the lagoonfront with the beach being 5 mins walk from room to sand.
Loved the view from unit 63. Staff is very friendly. Unit do need some tlc . Our only fault is the road noise and when they have a conference right outside this particular unit. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Near enough to al the swimmng beaches Walkability: Near to the beach and restaurants.
Had a large family function at the events room. Service and hospitality was great. The buffet meal was excellent. I highly recommend having your celebrations here as the price is reasonable as well.Rooms: 5/5
The 5 star rating is for the staff, they are extremely accommodating and super friendly and will go beyond their means to accommodate you in any way, they room were super cosy, really enjoyable and great atmospheric place to be. Thank you guys for the great accommodation.

A lovely restaurant with cheerful atmosphere. The menu was executed splendidly. Their wine offerings could do with an improvement otherwise we enjoyed our evening
My husband and I recently stayed at st michaels hotel and it was an absolutely horrible experience. During load shedding the generator didn't work, then the aircons didn't work either. There was no hot water either. When we did complain we got told load shedding is causing issues. We were still charged the full amount and nothing was done to make our stay a pleasant one. No fans were provided or lights during load shedding. Overall it was a horrible experience in the south coast and management needs to look at how they can address these issues!!
Suffering from food poisoning at the moment after eating at this hotel. I told them I am vegan and I even proceeded to tell them what vegan means. The chef needs to go back to college perhaps before they kill someone through their lack of knowledge regarding food safety. He gave me garlic bread which was shaped like a potato so I bit into it. Once I bit in I realised it was garlic bread and it was drenched in butter dairy. In a lot of pain and discomfort now thanks to the negligence or ignorance of the kitchen staff.
