Nelson Mandela, the world’s greatest statesman, has a dream to build a 200-bed children’s hospital in Johannesburg that will serve children across Southern Africa.
It will address a great need as there are only four hospitals in Africa to serve nearly 450 million children. Millions of these children suffer from life-threatening illnesses and have little or no chance of receiving the specialised care they need.
The Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital will ensure that no child will be turned away due to an inability to pay. It will be Nelson Mandela’s living legacy.
This world-class facility is being built with the support of donors from across the globe, in honour of Mr. Mandela, and R1bn is needed to make it a reality. Every citizen and organisation in the world is being called upon to assist.
