The service at Femina hospital is outstanding, the cleaning staff, nurses and everyone is so sweet, they attend to your problem whenever u need help. Keep up the good work.
Very friendly staff - especially Truth, my night nurse, who was simply outstanding, helpful and so sweet. Doctor that assisted me was very nice, as well. Even the cleaners and the hostess were all very friendly! Though the staff went the extra mile to make you smile, the service itself was bad. At first my husband wasn't allowed to go up with me to see me off because COVID, even though it was an emergency and we could have lost our baby - we live in the same house they asked us this question, I was tested negative which means he is negative as well - but they refused him to be in the same room or even to accompany me to my room. But magically the next morning the rules no longer applied and he could visit me in my room for as long as he wanted only AFTER it was established that baby is fine and I had to go through a terrifying and traumatic night alone even though I was in a private room with no other patients. I ate last 5PM the day before, they promised me my breakfast at 8AM and had me choose from a menu what I wanted. Brought my breakfast 40 minutes late and not what I ordered. I was starving and at that point was just so glad to eat SOMETHING. I also wasn’t regularly informed about what was going on. I'm laying there, worried about losing my baby girl and they're taking urine samples and blood work, but tell me nothing, no updates. I asked them to find out for me a few times, they only told me to call my doctor Monday to discuss it with him. Why couldn't the doctor who attended to me explain it to me? They were "busy with my urine report" for hours, when just the previous night it was made available to me in a matter of minutes? I still don't know the results of the blood work or the urine, but was discharged. Although it's such a lovely hospital, extremely clean and the staff is so friendly and people oriented, it was not one of the best experiences. If all they take from this whole thing, they should take that patients want to know what's going on - ESPECIALLY when it comes to their babies. Leaving people in the dark while they worry about losing their baby is horrible.
I had an ELCS, and wow it was a great experience. Everything ran like clockwork, no hassles anywhere, and the doctors and nursing staff were great. They are all very knowledgeable and helpful every step of the way. I will definitely recommend this hospital. The food was delicious, and the rooms felt like an hotel room, with a huge bathroom and shower, and it's spotless. Will definitely go there again with my next delivery.
I got admitted there three times during my pregnancy the first time the staff and service were nice .My doctor Dr Posma handled everything well that kept me calm. Second visit I had covid. My doctor was now Dr Dempers also handled everything very well but the treatment from the nurses was not nice.Second night I asked for my sheets to get changed because they were soiled and the plastic came out the night sister told me to fix them as they got messed up because of how I sleep.I had to make my bed because clearly she wasn't going to help. The day nurse was soo scared of covid you would swear she wasn't wearing PPE.Even suggested to the hostess that she drop off my food by the door.Do every morning I had to get woken up and off my bed to fetch my food cause "covid".On the day of delivery at night got welcomed by a very nice sister who explained everything and make sure I'm comfortable and understand everything. When the day shift came and I had delivered my baby the nurse and sisters were not prepared my doctor had to wait for them to go fetch some instrument to help him stitch and that nurse didn't even know what it was then someone else had to come. That time I'm lying there on the table waiting as well. My Doctor handled that whole situation well though .
I delivered here on 17 February after an induction due to post dates and must say this hospital is AMAZING!!! The labour ward nurses are highly professional, friendly and KNOW their stuff. I was so happy and amazed by everyone at this establishment from the security to the cleaner everyone is amazing. The rooms are individual and the nurses come check on you consistently and are more than willing to assist with anything. Keep up the good work FEMINA, my only suggestion is that the showers at the induction rooms have no shelving to put toiletry on whilst showering other than that, it's a 5 star rating from me
I love this hospital and their staff. Everyone was super kind and organised
On the 12th of October 2021 I gave birth to my firstborn baby boy at Femina. I have to say my experience at Femina was next level. Dr Dempers was amazing and very professional. Friends and family are amazed at how quickly my wound has healed and I have no pain. He had an excellent team of doctors in the theater and everyone made me feel so safe and comfortable. The pediatrician Dr Lamprecht took very good care of our boy. Everyone wanted to take pictures for us so that we could have these memories for ever! The first night they took the baby to sleep in the baby room and brought him for feedings. I felt he was in great hands. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food was amazing. Registering the baby is so easy because they have a home affairs in the hospital! I was actually teary when I had to go home and do this all by myself. I can definitely recommend Femina! The service is beyond expectations! My next baby will definitely also be born at Femina! Thank you Femina for making the first experience such a memorable one!
So many student nurses and few experienced nurses. My experience there was terrible. And also be vigilant of Peadistricians who will diagnose your child with bilirubin when you about to be discharged so to prolong your stay at the hospital. They will run continuous tests that you never get results and claim your child has some sort of bacteria. My husband reviewed the file and found out that the baby's bili was OK on the 2nd day after diagnosis yet they kept us at the hospital. Refuse Dr Hlatswayo
My stays at Femina have always been pleasant. Been there 4 times in 2 years for 4 days on average. Consistent professional and friendly service from Dr's, nurses and support staff. I highly recommend this hospital.
I had the worst hospital experience ever, the labour and delivery was the best part, the aftercare the worst. Arrived at the hospital, already in labour the receptionist before entering the hospital made me walk to the labour ward at the back entrance of the hospital after I told him I'm already in labour! Gave normal birth, Sr Erna and Dr Dempers did their best to help and assist, I was very impressed! This was the best part of my hospital stay. Went up to the ward that night after giving birth where the Sr only checked up on me once during the night, had to wring the bell and wait for her to come and remove my drip. Moved me to the clean ward, where nobody helped me bath or helped me sitz bath as this was my first baby and everything was new and overwhelming. The second night I had very low blood pressure and was totally exhausted, nobody really cared... I had to follow up on blood results as the Sr also didn't care, if I didn't asked nobody would have followed up. On discharge the paediatrician Dr Venter was so impatient with my baby and myself, after Dr saw him he started crying uncontrollably! Nobody helped me with the breastfeeding. They did not help me clean or bath my baby, on discharge they wrote on the discharge letter, they cleaned the eyes etc., which they didn't! Almost forgot to weigh my baby on discharge! The after care nursing staff in this hospital is the worst I have ever seen!
