Update: Pretoria East hospital contacted me to apologise as this is not their normal level of service. They wanted to make sure that I am okay and to see how they can assist me. They will refund me the money I paid and assured me that they will address the situation so that it won't happy again. I appreciate their effort and for that I ham giving them a higher rating. I went to the Pretoria East Emergency as I believed I had an emergency. The staff was friendly and treated me kindly when opening up my file and charging me R360 for the service which they would never deliver in the end. I sat in the emergency waiting room for 2 hours before I left. I have a good medical aid and went to a private hospital just to be "forgotten about". I understand that they have other more urgent emergencies to deal with but having to wait for 2 hours while you are sick or have an emergency is unacceptable. I specifically went to the emergency because I felt I could not wait for a doctor's appointment!
The Dr's are excellent, food is good, most of the staff are friendly but the nurses have no clue what they're doing. There is no sense of urgency and they're unable to answer simple medical questions. They spend half the time standing around chatting and spend almost no time checking in on patients. The night nurses are even worse, leaving patients ons their own without checking up on them. Truly horrific
Great hospital. Friendly and efficient staff. I went to the ER on a Sunday, had to wait a bit because it's a busy time of the year. The wait wasn't too long though. Everyone from the nurse that saw me first I didn't get her name to Dr Nghondzweni that's the name on my prescription meds was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I was done with everything in less than 4 hours. Thank you for the great service guys. Keep it up.
Staff are rude, my wife waited 2 hours to see a doctor in the ER all while being treated as if she was less than human. Worst hospital I have ever had to deal with. They have no sense of compassion for their patients, or any sense of urgency. They refuse to take our medical insurance despite them being the registered provider. Without fail, always a terrible experience dealing with them.
Worst nightmare of my life!!! My Mom was there in Aug 2022. The nurses are careless and not doing their job. Washed my Mom with cold water,I had to phone the doctor when she had a bloodclot through her lung. Their go to answer is.....she is doing fine...even if you can see she is NOT doing fine. I can go on and on and on. It was a VERY,VERY bad experience. Will NEVER,EVER go back there!!
Pretoria East ER does not deserve one Pathetic service. We visited the ER on Monday, 6 February 2023. We waited 1 hour then my husband was called into the ER rooms. He waited another 30 minutes telling the nursing staff that he has severe pain in his shoulder but did not receive anything for pain. The nursing staff were standing in the passage discussing the schools of their children. No doctor came to see him. We left after 2 hours and went to another hospital. Within 5 minutes on arrival he received a drip for pain AND a doctor attended to him. He broke a bone in his shoulder due to a major eileptic seizure on Sunday, 5 February 2023. At this hospital we received excellent service. Pretoria East is the worst hospital I have ever had to deal with. They have no sense of compassion for their patients, or any sense of urgency. The hospital manager contacted my husband on Tuesday, 7 February 2023 and informed him that he checked his patient file and he is ONLY suffering from epilepsy. He only has an oppointment with the Neurologist on 27 February 2023 and we went to ER for help but did not get any assistance. According to the hospital manager my husband ONLY has epilepsy but he broke a bone in his shoulder due to ONLY epilepsy. Poor poor poor
I was undergoing surgery here in July of this year. The nurses were friendly and supportive. A MR Johannes Ramafoko contacted me a few weeks after my opp regarding a REFUND. As I had less days in hospital as expected and I payed cash. Its been 3 MONTHS and NO communication. DEAD SILENCE. Bad aftertaste!
Professional and caring staff. Efficient. Protocols in place. Well run and maintained hospital. It's a top class hospital
Just a word of thank for Netcare Pretoria East for the Best care! During my admission for my back surgery, it was very busy early in the morning, but the man named Frans was very friendly, and made me and my mother feel at ease. Many thanks to Sr Anna Tefu and all her staff in ICU I was not scared or alone for one moment. What has been very special to me during my entire stay in the hospital is the care of everyone who reaches out to me from cleaning, catering, and Management. Best of the Best thank you Doctor Slabbert and Liza Botha! Jessica van Heerden Afrikaans Meisies Hoërskool
We pay a lot of money for medical aid in South Africa. We do so because we want to be taken care of when we need medical assistance. We are used to a certain standard here in the East of Pretoria. And Nedcare Pretoria East hospital falls short by far! The Doctor assigned to my Mother decided to make us wait another day. Almost 24 hours later, we still don't know what was going on. We assume it was a stroke, which is quite serious. The fact that a concerned family is anxiously waiting for some sort of communication or diagnosis, does not seem to be a priority for the Doktor. Needless to say that trying to get hold of the good Doktor was a wasted time. It's quite frustrating calling the hospital, as it takes 45 seconds to speak to an operator. No other hospital in the area operates this way. First impressions: No covered parking for the general public. Parking to the left of the entrance is a nightmare. When u reach the end, u have to turn around or reverse to get o the next row, looking for parking. Struggling shade trees in the parking lot are far and few apart. For this u pay. The first 40 min are free, and then you start paying. Some things just do
