Spar is a great shop selling fresh food

One of the best shops to do home shopping at Piet Retief. Their service is fast! You can also count on them for fresh goodies, I've never been disappointed.

Easily one of the worst Spars I've been to. But it's not the staff that's the issue, they were friendly. But the local community are genuinely unfriendly, rude and have no issues spending upwards of 20 minutes running back and forth between the checkout till and the aisles getting things they should have taken before even joining the line. This was not an isolated incident as several tills had exactly the same issues and meant the getting our groceries took 5 minutes, but paying and leaving took about half an hour. Management saw what was happening and did nothing to ease the situation. Avoid if at all possible

As a nationwide chain, Spar offers a consistent shopping experience with good, kind and well mannered cashiers. All Spar shops maintain a clean interior, offer fresh and high quality products - obviously not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
