River Side Lodge Groblerdal

The location has so much potential but what a terrible place. The rudest receptionist / owner ever. We booked a cabin from pictures on the website only to be told those weren't the right pictures so were booked in at the staff quarters. Eventually had to pay more to be put into the dirtiest seriously in need of maintenance log cabins! We unfortunately had no choice to go somewhere else as we attended a wedding at the venue. Will not ever recommend this terrible place although the location is amazing.

The house was dusty. No dishwashing liquid. Still you expect to leave the place as we got it. The bed's sheeting does not fit. The pots and pan was as old as the place. Please get newer ones! Aluminium pots are poisoning stuff. You could definitely make use of a bug dispenser and a small gas stove for boiling water for coffee. Nice place ...but not again

Very nice view and atmosphere. But the receptionist woman in charge of the venue was very rude and not forthcoming about everything/the arrangements, she also called her guests rude names behind their backs when they query things. Not worth it to come here for an event, as they change their rules as soon as you get there.

What a wonderful fishing spot. We had a caravan stand on the banks of the Olifant River. The view was spectacular! My husband even managed to catch fish! The ablution facilities are very clean and neat.

Staff and owner was very rude, music and fighting till 3am in the morning and a man beating his wife. No dishwashing liquid but you expect us to clean the dishes and cleand the room before we sign out. Nope no can do we payed for these services, we payed hundreds and yet the owner and staff were really extremely rude and unfriendly will not support this lodge ever again.

Spent 2 nights here with the kids on a hunting trip. The staff were very freindly. The premises was well kept and maintained. The lady at reception also gave us an upgrade to the log cabins in-front of the river at a reduced rate. The view from the cabins were great. However the cabins are due for a-bit of an upgrade. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The lodge was beautiful but has poor management. The manger was impolite,disrespectful and rude to her guest. Information was not fully given to the guests from the start and differs from email conversations to lodge itself.Rooms: 3/5

Beautiful place, but the reception lady are very unprofessional and what was communicated via email which were agreed upon and paid for, she changes the rules and inflate the prices with our arrival and was very rude to our guests and call them unprofound words behind there backsRooms: 3/5

Beautiful, tranquil, neat and clean. We love the hedges between the camping stands! Pity about the lack of fish in the river. Fishing was disappointing. Pools are clean but very milky, especially the small ones.

Their camp site is of top quality! Some stands have got their own private shower, toilet and wash up area. All stands are very private with a hedge separating each from the next. The view of the river is spectacular. The restaurant is very affordable and makes delicious meals and milkshakes. Will definitely return.
