This is the cutest little café, and they make amazing food! I'm in town for work and we've ordered lunch here every day for the last week and a half. The salad bowls falafel, chicken, and beef--I've had each twice now are hearty portions of fresh and tasty food. And my coworkers loved the spicy chicken burger enough to order it two days in a row. Don't sleep on Roots! Dietary restrictions: Fabulous for gluten-free options
Roots definitely has some of the best fresh juice and what a cool glass jar and freshly prepared salad bowls in Cape Town. The bowl took a while to be delivered, but the quality of ingredients was superb.Food: 5/5
Amazing food! Great service, so refreshing. I love how it really seems like every meal was made with so much care and effort. The portions are fulfilling. I love their salads, goodness! Their bread as well, make sure you go for the health bread... splendid. Their salads are a knockout

What a fantastic spot with the most friendly staff! I happened to come across Roots cafe when walking about looking for a quick lunch. I had a chicken mayo sandwich on probably one of the best health breads I have ever had. Unfortunately I was in a rush and had to get a takeaway but will definitely be back to sit and enjoy a brunch at some point as the atmosphere is super inviting and the staff make you feel so welcome.

Ordered chicken stir fry and it had a mixture or fresh chicken and spoiled chicken could tell from the taste. I couldn't finish my meal after that. When I reported it the lady insisted on how they use fresh chicken but did not apologize. Honestly worst experience I have ever had
First time visit. Very nice setting. Service could have been a bit more friendly. Had takeaway coffee, a baked crunchie and date balls which were OK.
Wonderful little café. Just down the block from the Western Cape Archives with great coffee, pastries, and lunch. Above all, the staff are friendly and quick to learn what you like if you return on a weekly basis without making considerable conversation which is nice when you just want to sit and get to work. Before long, I had a "usual" order, which I'd have after eating my lunch in the archive lounge room - never had a usual before, always cheered me up when I walked in and they asked if I wanted my "usual"!
My new BEST restaurant to brighten up my work day! Food is amazing! Fresh, tasty, obviously made with . I have tried a few meals since discovering them - from toasted sandwiches to omlette as well as a quinoa salad ... All delish! The coffee addictive. There is such a positive, sunny " vibe" when you enter and it is always immaculately clean. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
