Very friendly welcoming. Felt like home. Kids loved the playground outside. Kids are welcome to run around and be themselves. Lovely to have a braai, coffee when arrived and a nice warm comfortable bed to get a good nites rest. Highly recommend.Rooms: 4/5
Location close to the highway makes it very easy to get to. The room was clean and had everything we could need. It's also dog-friendly, which was a must for us.Rooms: 5/5
This is a very neat and tidy Guesthouse. We spent one night there on our way to the coast from Gauteng and enjoyed our stay. It is pet friendly, and they ensured we had backup lights for the loadshedding. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming.Rooms: 4/5
If you’re driving down on the N1 towards Cape Town or the Western Cape or vice versa towards Johannesburg, and need a place to rest and stay, then I’d highly recommend Spes Bona Guesthouse. Situated not far off the N1 and directly opposite a OK Supermarket literally across the road, if you want to buy food or booze and the neighbourhood is very quiet. The owners are wonderful people who are well prepared for your arrival and make you feel at home! They’re very helpful with local knowledge and are available to assist if need be. Everything is provided as it’s a bed and breakfast we didn’t stay for breakfast as we had a early start. There is facilities available to Braai, which we did! Great playground area for the toddler’s and full DStv access in each room, with TV and air con and en suite bathrooms. I would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a stopover to reenergise themselves or just for a relaxing rest. The pictures don’t do the Spes Bona Guesthouse justice! You’d need to experience the hospitality to fully appreciate it. PS. Every room has rechargeable “LED Lights” available for those load shedding nights.
Spes Bona is the perfect stop over guesthouse. On the 13th of January 2022 we had the pleasure of sleeping over at Spes Bona during a roadtrip from the Western Cape to Natal. Neat, clean, homely, cosy and beautiful antique furniture and decorations. The owner is warm, witty and extremely helpful. Everything you could ever need is provided from a flask and rechargeable lamp in case of loadshedding to the most delicious rusks and coffees. The beautiful greywater garden has a play area for children with swings and play equipment. The owner gave my young son a Christmas gift - a handmade painted rock with a rose on it which he treasures like the rose in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry book "The Little Prince". We loved our stay at Spes Bona. Thank you.
Very convenient and comfortable overnight stop. Rooms clean and well appointed. Very friendly reception and people. Close to highway and also some great dining options. Well worth the stop.Rooms: 5/5
The cutest little guesthouse filled with antique and vintage pieces and charm. Also cosy with modern necessities. A lovely little cottage garden to relax privately in i loved it Rooms: Very charming and with wifi Safety: We felt safe and were given privacy Walkability: Right across the street from a well. Stocked supermarket and coffee shop
Only bad thing is every room doesnt have theyre own entrance. U share a entrance with people who had 3 dogs and if you want to leave you have to wait for the people to wake up and put the dogs away, a bit of a inconvenience i would say. Loadshedding didnt bother us
We have been ushered into a wonderful place where the 2 Rottweilers have eventually calmed down after a hectic trip from Gauteng. What a gem!Rooms: 5/5
