NOBODY ATTEND THE PHONE.. NEVER.. EVER.. Landlines, cellphones-- all same story . The internet banking. message center is  also too complicated and badly designed. India is top in IT sector, but our dear SBI  Still continue with at least a 20 year old design for web processes.. Please do something urgently.. SBI is dear to us, we are proud about this flagship  Indian Brand, but this bad service here- not acceptable please.  I am sure you can find a solution for it..

I have an account with SBI India and I needed to transfer some money to a local account- their internet banking does not work, so I was advised to go to the Joburg branch.  If I could give them zero stars I would. There is apparently only one person available to open and close an account- Girish, who only opens accounts on appointment what modern bank does that?.  You cannot walk in to open an account. You can only make an appointment by calling them, and they never answer their phones. If you walk in without an appointment, you will wait for however long it takes for Girish to finish up his own work and they will not tell you how long it will take. But this important information is not provided on their website anywhere, so you only find out when you walk into the bank.  The receptionist is pointless. I heard her lying to someone on the phone that Girish hadn't responded to his email or calls because he was currently in a meeting with CEO, while I was standing in front of her.  When I asked where Girish was, he was finishing up his banking work. So....her job is basically to lie to customers. They are rude, and unhelpful liars.  SBI in India is bad enough, but they've exported their awful attitude and practices to South Africa.  The bank employees make you feel like they're doing you a favour by attending to you.  Do yourself a favour and find another bank. even in India.

All the comments that others have made are correct.  The refurbished internet baking website is better but can be improved much. Customer Services are poor, no one picks the phone or responds your email within time. Pure government culture and reaping benefits of the State Bank brand legacy.  I must say, they have put quite some good money to make the branch swanky. You will have a feeling of private client but I guess most of the retail customer like us have no place in their system.

I am also experiencing difficulty to get through to the banking desk or to the option 1, opening a new account. The call center is active but no one at the bank answers. Very poor service.

Worst Bank. Pathetic Service. Exorbitant charges. Charges for petty things such as bank statement, opening bank account, closing bank account [things which take a click]. Very bad rate while doing India remittance. Net banking site is not interactive and navigation is not user friendly, extremely slow. When you call them, they do not pick up the phone.

SBI customers service has improved. YONO app much easier to use. Very friendly staff.

Long waiting time at the Branch, Executives won't care about Customer's, Pathetic Support you have to call them again and again for the support, They won't give u any Ticket no when u raise a complaint... On Email, they never reply you on time, just keep rotating support emails from one deptt. to another deptt....  Opened a Saving account on 07 Jan, 2015 and still struggling to get support from them on 01 issues...

I tried giving them a second chance after a year since i closed my account. Seems no improvement at all. SBI India is best but SBI in South Africa should be called as worst bank.

Very bad customer service, very rude when answering calls, starting with yeah, I wonder if it is really Indian bank, my money stuck there to India account no help

Reasons I Love SBI South Africa Website most 1 Most secure login: You need to wait for minimum 5 minutes for login 2 Fastest messaging system: Sometimes you get login message a minutes before you login to system 3 Highly human interactive website: If you want to do remittance to India, website will assure minimum 20 to 30 times that you are the correct person  and than it will allow you to make the transactions else it will continue log out the user 4 Loving part for me: I love this website and use it as a reference to my clients in South Africa that if you want to build any banking website you can take all the hidden and silent features of SBI South Africa
