Attendants are hardly present. You arrive back to your vehicle with a slip saying “failure to pay” and the attendant is no where to be found. Today i parked in Bree street. Surprisingly the attendant was there and I paid for 30 mins before I did my shopping. I tapped my card and was told to go. The attendant then came running back to me saying the payment didn’t go through. I then had to wait for him to remove his device from the cover and process the payment by inserting the card. Upon completion it had already been 5 minutes into my parking time. I told him I would be 30 mins and he had already wasted 5 minutes of my parking time. He just laughed. When I returned to my vehicle 30 mins later he ran over to me and insisted I pay extra. I explained to him that I paid for 30 mins and that’s how long I was. He then told me that I would need to pay a fine. The attendants and this system need to be revised. I often have to spend time looking for them which I then have to pay for. This is a aggravating to say the least.
1 star is far too kind, where do they get off charging over R20 an hour for on-street parking? More expensive than most private property. Daylight robbery at its finest
The parking attendants are very provisional and friendly. Unfortunately they aren't good at maths. They newer give me the correct amount of money back forcing me to pay with a card every time.
It breaks my heart to see organisations like this exist. Systems have been are broken, there are often long waiting times to pay for your ticket thus resulting in them charging you even more than the crazy current rates and as well as to get out the parking lot . Please re-consider the way you do business. All the positives I initially saw creating jobs, using tech, encouraging cycling later melted away as I actually saw the business operating.
If I could give them 0 stars i would. The marshals are rude, they overcharge for parking. Where is R40 for 17min of parking a normal rate??
If I had the option of 0 stars I would have done it!!! Worst service and aggressive employees! One word, they are not part of the City of Cape Town, because if they were they could and would have sent 'fines' if you "failed to pay" like they call it when you only arrived and don't know how long you will be in the parking! Girls and woman, please keep you pepper spray handy in case of an assault!
I see a lot of negative reviews to which I have no opinion. I live in JHB so don't interact with them a lot but had a good bit of help from an SPS employee. Someone backed into my rental car while it was parked in CT CBD. The SPS attendee got the driver's details, number plate and phone number for me and made sure to give it to me when I got back to my car. Thanks to Jean C0066. Hope you're lucky enough to meet him.
what is going to happen to this company when R20 per hour NATIONAL minimum wage comes into effect in May 2018? at the moment the company pays its workers very little but has gotten away with this because there is no specific minimum wage for parking marshals. From May 2018, if another parking company is compliant with the national minimum wage and can pay its workers a minimum wage of R20 per hour that company should get the tender above SPS
This entire scheme is a con, squeezing cash from already over-taxed city residents. The marshals are bad tempered and aggressive which isn't surprising because the company deducts money from them with their quota / target system. When the marshals threaten to vandalise your car when you complain about the exhorbitant rates you know both management and the authorities have utterly failed to manage this catastrophe of a scheme.
I am very grateful to the staff and especially Maclory, a marshal employed by Street Park Solution. He found my laptop computer that i accidentally left behind in the city centre while rushing to the airport yesterday. He promptly handed it in to his office. Adam from Street Parking Solutions contacted me this morning and informed me that they had found my laptop. These actions has demonstrated to me, that there are still some good people with integrity left and has given me hope for the future of this country. Thank you once again to the staff at Street Park Solutions. Sincerely Grateful Owen Behr .
