We stayed in Karee chalet. Except for toilet not flushing, which was not an issue for us as there was another one in the bathroom, we really enjoyed the stay. It is within Dinokeng and we could see the lions that weekend.
I was told that the managers are new and working hard to get everything in order. Hot pool isn't hot. The jungle gyms need work and the baby pool wasn't working. The ablutions are lovely and the price is affordable. Summer time will probably be lovely as then you don't need a hot pool.
We recently went to Tamboti Vreugde for the April/May long weekend. Originally I saw the campsite in the caravan magazine. I booked the weekend and then read some of the reviews, the reviews worried me. Our experience however, was contrary to most of the reviews. We really enjoyed our time at Tamboti Vreugde. The campsite was neat and clean. The ablutions were always clean and had hot water. There are many small ablutions rather than one or two big ablution blocks. The family bathrooms were great. The campsites were all level and had a good mix of shade and grass. The campsites were not demarcated but whenever anyone arrived, personnel from the campsite accompanied the new campers to select a site and ensure they did not encroach on any other sites. The camp staff were very friendly. Our biggest complaint was that there were no fences around the four pools at the campsite. We had a great time and would definitely return.
Visit over the long weekend of the 21/9. Although the feedback received when the booking was done that caravan sites are not allocated before but 1st come 1st option we have found that the majority of the camp sites on the grass and under the trees were fenced of for people that have phoned and request for it to be done. Unfortunately had to shower in cold water on the Friday evening, but not an issue again for the rest of the weekend. I will suggest that the sites are clearly marked as even the staff were not able to tell us where exactly the sites perimetres are. Staff friendly and helpful. The swimming pools clean and well maintained. Did enjoy the warmer indoor pool. Overall a nice caravan park to visit. Will in future try it again but will try to avoid over busy long weekends.
Best kept secret. If you want to break away and want some quiet time in nature is this a lobely resort. Nice campsites, comfortable chalets. Beautiful chapel and venue for weddings or birthday's
Very good for campers to get away from noise. Quiet camping. Bathroom facilities good, but can do with a little upgrade, and might be too little if the camp is fully booked.
What a really pleasant, quiet place. Tucked away in the quiet of the bush. Absolutely love it. It was spur of the moment stay over and so glad we did.
Nice quiet camping site for a non camper. Ablusion blocks well up to standard. Extremely friendly and helpfull staff. Manager visited us twice on day to make certain we have all we need.
Campers: Very good value for money. Near Pretoria, enjoy a relaxing weekend in the game reserve. Nice cold swimming pool but unfenced. Big lapa for a get together.
pamflet was SOOO misleading, no fishing we wanted to swim.. no hot swimming pool we had to open and cover the pool ourself, and pool was locked on the saturday... tge Lapa where we wanted to watch rugby was reserved and no one notified us had to make another plan for the rugby, tuck Shop was closed at all times and had to walk around looking for reseption just to get ice.. had A lot of difficulty during the weekend, waste of time and money..!!!
