Wow what an amazing experience. Thali is part of the famous Chef’s Warehouse brand/group. It is an Indian restaurant. They have a set menu comprising three courses. All the food was really really good, the flavors and spices were amazing. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable for what you get. The place has a nice vibe and is ideal for a date night or night out with friends. It is well decorated. Overall 10/10.
Really impressive experience. The Indian food served in sharing platters is such a great concept. Fun with a great vibe. The dishes also were excellent, each course perfectly spiced and well balanced, great that the spice levels go up as you progress, so that the next course is equally punchy. Service time also quite good. The only reason I wont give 5 stars is the long wait to get my table, as they don’t accept reservations.
Really nice atmosphere. We ended up having the private room upstairs to ourselves. I think sitting downstairs by the bar could also be fun. Interesting combination of flavors in the dishes. I think you have to be open to it. But I did quite like it. Great cocktails too. Great spot if you’re looking for authentic Indian tapas in Cape Town. The portions are big and it’s a lot of food and everything is always delicious. The servers are always so friendly and knowledgeable. Wow, this is one of those remarkable spots where food and artistry weave together. The food is delicious and the courses take one on a journey. Excellent!Food: 5/5
Beautiful setting, friendly staff and very well-presented food. The cocktails were delicious especially the roasted cashew and mango lassi, but the food ultimately did not live up to our expectations. The portions were generous, but the flavors felt a bit bland and monotonous. This was especially the case for the vegetarian options. Most of the dishes were nice, but nothing to write home about. The paneer in the the vegetarian curry, however, was genuinely disappointing. It was chewy and bland, and the batter it had been deep fried in was sort of soggy.
Ordered the set menu here. The service was incredible. Emma was our hostess. She was really kind to mix the vegetarian and meat menu together to curate a special experience. Personally I found the food to be at times ever so slightly too spiced/spicy for my liking. Overall loved the curries though. My favourite standouts were the fish kebab starter, the roti and naan were so well made, as was the butter chicken. Also had the lime and mango lassi, both of which were delicious!
A superb meal, one not to be missed if you're in Cape Town. I especially enjoyed the kashmiri-seared duck and the deep fried squid in the coconut and saffron cream. The thali selection had a wide variety of flavors but they were all harmonious with each other. Don't be afraid to try the patio outside, it's charming!
