What a very fun place! Incredible shops, but a lot of them are closed on Sunday. If you’re looking to buy some unique South African handicrafts or art it’s a place to be they have a incredible food area on Saturday and Sunday with a DJ and it’s like a party there’s food from all four corners of the world made from people from those countries and cultures, it was just so tasty and reasonably priced
After looking at the reviews, we decided to check this place out anyways. They were right, It seems most of action happens on Saturday, but since we don't prefer crowd we thought we would go during the week and then again on Saturday. During the week, we found just the restaurants and hi end shops. Yea, It wasn't all the flair, but we did get some good photos of the mountain. We went back on Saturday and there were people everywhere having a good time. There was a DJ, great food, drinks and vendors there selling all sorts of goodies.
Upmarket but very nice experience. Lots of different shops to visit. I basically only had time to experience the conference facilities, but what an experience that was. The food they provide their clients is on another level. Wow! I felt like I was at a 5 start restaurant for lunch. I did have a R50 breakfast at the Purveyor Steakhouse & Pizzeria. That was very nice as well. I'll definitely be going back there for date night .
Nice market, enclosed with plenty seating and tables, lots of food stalls, restaurants, great variety, drinks, cocktails, smoothies, live music and DJ, limited parking but wheelchair access. Very vibey and fun people. Open Saturdays and Sundays.
Loved the atmosphere and variety of food on sale. It was a actual, proper diverse crowd of locals and tourists and one of the few places I visited in CT that had a crowd that reflected the diversity of the country in a welcoming way. A great way to spend your Sunday, fantastic music and food from all over the world at reasonable prices. Plus independent fashion and craft stores if you’re in the mood to shop. Would definitely add to your list of things to do during your visit to Cape Town.
Finally went to the Old Biscuit Mill, and I can say I've been missing out. The prices, the vibe, and the experience was like no other. It is similar to Mojo Market but with more grit and the old fashioned home bespoke vendors sharing their art be it food, clothing, farm produce etc. I particularly enjoyed the dim sum stand not sure of the name they had great vegan options. The Sprung stand also had a very tasty vegan spring roll. For the meat lovers there are quite a few lovely options too, this market is such a vibe don't sleep on it.
Excellent visit whenever in Cape Town. Amazing diverse food, some of the best you could have in ct. Note, go hungry if you want to enjoy this experience. Everything is worth a taste here as everyone is competing for a share of the customers so the standards are really high. For me a standout is Annie’s stand, over the years she is consistently putting out some of the best koesisters I’ve had, as well as other really good snacks. Visit her for one of the capes best signature experiences.
Love, love, love it!! By far one of the best attractions on a weekend. For every goody with a music heart this is the place to be. Sip on your drink or local beer while listening to cool DJ beats. Eat from the countless goody stands that offers something everyone. Browse arts and shop beautiful craft.
Great way to spend a day am with kids - amazing selection of food, fun and a great vibe. One of Cape Towns must dos.
