I had a great experience from the reception to bar the cleaning staff to security guards. The rooms are spacious and modern and clean. Has a lovely bathroom with everything neat and clean. The parking is in the basement so you go directly to your floor where you room are, it was very private and had no unnecessary disturbance. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. So my overall experience was great. Thank you1 I will most definitely book in again.
Had a booking in November 2021. Everything was confirmed online. Travelled 600km and 6 hours later, turned up at the hotel late afternoon to find the hotel closed. No one in reception, no one in the hotel. Only the spa was open which operates independently from the hotel. The staff at the spa were extremely helpful and guided me to another hotel as I found myself stranded in a new city. All hotels were open expect this one and it would have been nice and polite to inform all your bookings in advance if the plan was to close. No idea why they were closed, but some staff mentioned there were problems with the owner running the place. I will never book this place again. Thankfully I found a really nice 5 star hotel just down the road from this one.
I was there on a business trip, and I was thoroughly impressed with the facilities. We attended the conference centre nearby for 3 days, and in that time, we were in the lap of luxury. Your room is secured by a key-card lock, and you also use this to activate the power in your room. The rooms are decently sized, and the beds are incredibly comfortable I'm fairly certain we were treated to Egyptian cotton. All the rooms are air-conditioned, which is a must for Durban, and they have the coolest bar I've ever seen at a hotel. They even have a swimming pool on the roof. My only real gripe and the reason for my 4-star rating is that they didn't really have a lot of variety in their dessert menu for the three days we were there, and they were sometimes a bit disorganised, as they got quite a few of the orders wrong for many people. Their saving grace is that their food was to die for. They have absolutely amazing chefs. I would definitely, without question, stay there again if I have another business trip there.
Visited the Spa on the top floor. - I had good therapist and enjoyed her massage treatment though i didn't enjoy that facial or soaking my feet into the water. My friend was not impressed and did not enjoy her spa experience. - The spa needs a bit of attention to the aesthetics of the place. Simple thing like no toilet paper that required speaking to many of the ladies before it got sorted. a client should not be asking for this. -unprofessional to have the staff changing in the small bathroom which clients are using. - I saw many customers complaining about the service and also opposed to what was advertised Vs offered The hotel: - first impression, set in a beautiful area in umghlanga - parking is too small - I didn't get to see the rooms so cannot comment. - Such an awesome view and set up for the pool area but it was not clean and needs attention. Probably a result of Covid and shortage of staff.
Great hotel. The rooms where nice & spacious. The checking in experience isn't as pleasant especially if you're travelling in groups. The rooms weren't really ready even for a late check in. Other than that, the bar was a good waiting area. The breakfast made up for most of the other stuff.Rooms: 3/5
This is a great hotel in terms of location and food. The team will stop at nothing to give you the best service, the food is just superb you can tell that good food is their passion even if you are not going to stay there go and eat the food. I also had a great night's rest good mattress. There only thing they need to fix is the little spots, like the wooden skirtings along the passage, it dates the place. Overall great views of Durban and the staff offer Amazing service and great spots for reading.
There's a night club nearby so it was noisy until the early hours of the morning. No hand towel in the bathroom on the first day. Also water in the shower wasn't as hot as I would've liked. Superb customer service by Scelo
Awesome ..home away from.home..Leonard was amazing. The room was Comfy and spacious. Decor was refreshing. Breakfast was off the hook everyday. My kids loved it. The staff is amazing and go the extra mile. My week was the bomb. Loved every minute Will be back..good job
This was one of my favorite visits last week, it is a boutique hotel so don't expect too much. It had a great pool on the 7th floor /roof top... Steam room and sauna is super cool. The gym is small and neglected but it has a nice spa. Stunning views of the coast
I booked in for my girlfriends birthday and had the worst experience ever. I was charged R250 for checking in 2 hours before the required checkout time only to go into a room that went wrong and no one cared to consider how we feel as customers to spend so much money to stay in a room that gives you cold water, the TV was broken, The aircon was pathetic.. And eventually failed at 3am making us boil in discomfort.. We spoke to the manager on duty and no one decided to compensate us.. To have a better experience.. I would never recommend this hotel if no one gives me the customer satisfaction I deserve.it was so embarrassing to actually book a place like this for my girlfriends birthday. Taking a customers money and not living up to standards is disgusting and disheartening.. I would like a complimentary stay to for the same amount to experience it better for what I have paid for
